OBITUARIES
DOMINGO ANTONIO SOLORZANO died Saturday, Nov. 21, at
the age of 66. He was the beloved husband of Zenelia B. Zolorzano,
loving father of Sylvia M. Solorzano, Karla V. Perez-Solorzano and
Dino Anthony Solorzano, cherished grandfather of Samantha,
Dominick and Ka’Leo, dear brother of Noel Solorzano, Lorena
Solorzano and Jessie Gutierrez, and dear uncle of Martha, Jessie
and Julie. A Mass of Christian Burial was be off ered at St. Teresa
Church on Friday, Nov. 27, followed by private cremation at Fresh
Pond Crematory, Middle Village, under the direction of Papavero
Funeral Home, Maspeth.

ALICIA NAVA died Monday, Nov. 30, at the age of 61. She was
the beloved wife of Carlos Nava, loving mother of Nancy Palma,
Susan Endara and Christian Martinez, cherished abuelita of Oscar,
Gabriel, Alexander, Sebastian, Madelyn and Jahir, devoted
daughter of Calogero Morgante and the late Jennie Morgante, and
dear sister of Ernesto Munoz and the late Manuel Munoz. A Mass
of Christian Burial will be off ered at Our Lady of Sorrows Church
on Friday, Dec. 4, at 10:30 a.m., followed by interment at Calvary
Cemetery, Woodside, under the direction of Papavero Funeral
Home, Maspeth.

ANDREW FULGIONE died Monday, Nov. 30, at the age of
90. He was the beloved husband of the late Vincenza Fulgione,
loving father of Andrew E. Fulgione and Steven Fulgione, cherished
grandfather of Brian Fulgione and Stefanie Lovejoy and
great-grandfather of Danny, Christopher, Aubrey, Kyla, James
and Savannah, and dear brother of Emil, Mario, Virginia, and
the late Joseph. He was a United States Army veteran who served
in the Korean Confl ict. A Mass of Christian Burial will be off ered
at St. Mary’s Church on Thursday, Dec. 3, at 11 a.m., followed by
interment at St. John Cemetery, Middle Village, under the direction
of Papavero Funeral Home, Maspeth.

BRIDGET P. WALSH died Sunday, Nov. 29, at the age of 92. She
passed on to her Eternal Rest surrounded by her loving family. She
was predeceased by her loving husband, Vincent, and is survived
by her children: Patrick (Sue), Katherine, Dolores, Teresa (Frank)
and Geraldine. Bridget was a loving grandmother to Sean, Meghan
& Siobhan Walsh, and Bridget, Brendan & Connor Corso. She was
an aunt to numerous nieces and nephews in England, Washington,
D.C., Philadelphia, New Jersey, New York, and Ireland. She emigrated
from her family farm in Shragh, Moyasta, County Clare,
Ireland initially to Washington, D.C., and then onto New York
City with her sister, Elizabeth. She worked initially at Stouff er’s
Restaurant and eventually co-owned Walsh’s Pub and Restaurant
with Vincent. She was predeceased by her parents Catherine (nee
O’Brien) and Patrick McDermott along with her siblings: John,
Mary (John) Kilgannon, Patrick (Agnes), Margaret (Jeremiah)
Connell, and Elizabeth (Michael) Flynn. Most of her siblings
emigrated and the McDermotts maintained a close relationship
across three countries not only in their generation but also in the
succeeding next two generations — what a legacy gift to us all! A
Mass of Christian Burial will be off ered at St. Adalbert’s Church
on Saturday, Dec. 5, 2020 at 9:45 a.m., followed by interment at St.
Charles Cemetery, Farmingdale, under the direction of Papavero
Funeral Home.
