Gun-toting thieves attack men in R’wood & B’wick

Cops are looking for three bandits
responsible for a series of
armed robberies on the streets
of Ridgewood and Bushwick dating
back to early October.
Each incident occurred during late
night and early morning hours, with
between two and three suspects ambushing
a victim walking through the
area. Police said that one of the perpetrators
pointed a gun at the victim and
demanded assorted property, usually
a wallet and/or cellphone.
The Ridgewood Times previously
reported about one of the incidents,
which occurred at 1:20 a.m. on Nov. 6
along Decatur Street between Irving
and Wyckoff avenues in Ridgewood.
In that incident, two perpetrators approached
a 40-year-old man walking
home from a neighborhood bar. One
of the suspects displayed a gun and
demanded his wallet and cellphone.
The crooks then removed about
$800 in property from the victim, then
fl ed the scene on foot. The victim was
not injured.
On Nov. 20, the NYPD announced
that the suspects involved in that caper
also took part in six other robberies
near the Ridgewood/Bushwick border.
The cases, as described by police, are
as follows:
At 11:43 p.m. on Oct. 9, three bandits
approached a 22-year-old man in the
area of Seneca Avenue and Madison
Street in Ridgewood, displayed a gun
and demanded the man’s wallet and
clothing. They removed property
valued at $1,200.
At 2:35 a.m. on Oct. 30, the three perpetrators
robbed a 20-year-old man at
gunpoint near the corner of Woodbine
Street and Knickerbocker Avenue in
Bushwick. They stole $650 in property
from the victim before fl eeing.
At 3:40 a.m. on Nov. 7, the three bandits
robbed a 41-year-old man at gunpoint
near the corner of Ridgewood
Place and Palmetto Street, just over
the Ridgewood/Bushwick border. The
suspects took $800 in property from
the man.
At 10:30 p.m. that same evening, the
crooks held up a 21-year-old man in the
area of Troutman Street and Central
Avenue in Bushwick, taking $1,000 in
property from him.
At 2:30 a.m. on Nov. 11, two suspects
approached a 23-year-old man at
the corner of Ridgewood Place and
Madison Street near the Ridgewood/
Bushwick border and held him up
at gunpoint. They removed $600 in
property from the victim.
Finally, at 3:10 a.m. that same morning,
three suspects held up a 22-yearold
man along Palmetto Street between
Irving and Knickerbocker Avenues in
Bushwick, removing $60 in property
from him.
All of the robberies were reported
to the 83rd and 104th precincts. None
of the victims were injured.
Cops described the suspects as black
men in their 20s wearing all dark
clothing. The NYPD released video
footage of the perpetrators on Nov. 20.
