OBITUARIES
VERA RUDZWICK died on Monday, Nov. 8, at the age of 81. She was the
beloved wife of Russell A. Rudzwick, loving mother of Nicholas Rudzwick
and dear sister of Hanna Thiele and Hans Jurgen Bade. She is also survived
by many loving nieces, nephews and friends. Funeral services were held
at Papavero Funeral Home on Saturday, Nov. 13, followed by cremation
service at Fresh Pond Crematory, Middle Village, under the direction of
Papavero Funeral Home, Maspeth.

THOMAS COSGROVE died on Monday, Nov. 8, at the age of 85. He was
the beloved husband of the late Patricia Cosgrove, loving father of Thomas
Cosgrove, Robert Cosgrove and the late Brian Cosgrove, father-in-law of
Barbara and Tara and cherished grandfather of Theresa, Lynn and Dennis.
Mr. Cosgrove was also a United States Army Veteran. Mass of Christian
Burial was off ered at Blessed Sacrament Church on Friday, Nov. 12, followed
by interment at St. Michael’s Cemetery, East Elmhurst, under the direction
of Papavero Funeral Home, Maspeth.

FRANCES SCHLEGEL died Monday, Nov. 8, at the age of 80. She was
the devoted and loving wife of the late William J. Schlegel, daughter of
the late Phillip and Anna Royes, beloved younger sister to her late sister
& brother-in-law Rosemarie and Richard Urbanek and older sister to Elsie
and her husband Lenny Cepale and aunt to their three daughters Leonora
Drew, Jennifer and Mike Garro and Stephanie and Eric Struck and great
aunt to their fi ve children Jaclyn and Nicholas Drew, Ashley and Brianna
Garro, and Sydney Struck. She is survived by her son John Schlegel and his
longtime partner Stacy Schaefer. She was a graduate of Grover Cleveland
High School Class of ‘58, an avid bowler and was always involved in church
activities. She also enjoyed traveling. She will be missed very much by her
family and loved ones.

MARGARET PHILLIPS died on Monday, Aug. 9, at the age of 76. She
was the beloved sister of Maureen Phillips, Rosemary Phillips and Patricia
Dorman and cherished aunt. Mass of Christian Burial was off ered at
Sacred Heart Church on Tuesday, Nov. 16, followed by interment at St. John
Cemetery, Middle Village, under the direction of Papavero Funeral Home,
Maspeth.

beloved wife of Jim Orsino, loving mother of James Orsino and motherin
law of Mia, cherished grandmother of Eric and Ella and dear sister of
Salvatore (Donna Rose) Rosato. She is also survived by many loving nieces,
nephews and friends. Funeral services will be held at Papavero Funeral
Home on Thursday, Nov. 18, followed by private cremation on Friday, Nov. 19,
at Fresh Pond Crematory, Middle Village, under the direction of Papavero
Funeral Home, Maspeth.

TARA DINEEN died on Saturday, Nov. 13 at the age of 61. She was the
beloved wife of Robert Cosgrove, loving mother of Kyle (Heidy) Vega and
Lindsey (Kenny) Vega, cherished sister of Tommy Dineen and dear friend.

JOSEPHINE “JOSIE” CORNETTA died on Tuesday, Nov. 16, at the age of
90. She was the beloved wife of Harold J. Cornetta, loving mother of Anthony
Cornetta & Frances Novello, mother-in-law of Annmarie Cornetta & John
Novello, cherished grandmother “Nanny” of Nicole & Gerard Maier, Andrea
Novello and Sabrina Novello, great-grandmother of Audrina Maier and
Aria Maier and dear sister of Rose Tamburro, Mary Ann Ippolito, Joseph
Molica and the late Carmela Simone. She is also survived by many loving
nieces, nephews, cousins and friends. Josie was an active member and
volunteer at Maspeth Self-Help Senior Center for over 25 years. Mass of
Christian Burial was off ered at St. Stanislaus Church on Monday, Nov. 22,
followed by entombment at St. John Cemetery, Middle Village, under the
direction of Papavero Funeral Home, Maspeth.

was the beloved son of the late Loretta and Richard A. Houlihan and loving
brother of Loreen Houlihan and Richard M. Houlihan. He is also survived
