OBITUARIES
SONIA PADILLA died Sunday, Oct. 31, at the age of 79. She was the
beloved wife of Bartolome Padilla, loving mother of Luis A. Padilla
and Hope N. Padilla, mother-in-law of June, Denise and Joseph, cherished
grandmother of Luis Jr., Maria, Janelle, Jennifer, Louie, Angela,
Ali and Adrian and great-grandmother of 17 great-grandchildren.
Funeral services were held at Papavero Funeral Home on Wednesday
and Thursday, Nov. 3 and 4, followed by private cremation at Fresh
Pond Crematory, Middle Village, under the direction of Papavero
Funeral Home, Maspeth.

JOAN PIDALA died Friday, Oct. 29, at the age of 83. She was the
beloved wife of Anthony Pidala, loving mother of Anthony Pidala,
Michael and Margaret Pidala and Maryann and Ray Keen and cherished
grandmother of Robert and Jocelyn, Michael, Stephanie and
Michael B. She is also survived by many loving nieces and nephews.
Mass of Christian Burial was off ered at Our Lady of Hope Church on
Wednesday, Nov. 3, followed by interment at St. John Cemetery, Middle
Village, under the direction of Papavero Funeral Home, Maspeth.

JENNIE MECABE died Tuesday, Oct. 26, at the age of 81. She was the
beloved wife of Harold C. Mecabe, loving sister of Stephen DeMaria,
Rose Marie Pastina, Louis DeMaria and the late Bruno DeMaria, Louis
DeMaria, Joseph DeMaria and Mary Ferri Scotti. She is also survived
by many loving nieces, nephews, godchildren, cousins and friends.
Mass of Christian Burial was offered at St. Pancras Church on Monday,
Nov. 1, followed by interment at Calverton National Cemetery,
Calverton, under the direction of Papavero Funeral Home, Maspeth.

MARIO E. LUNA died Friday, Oct. 22, at the age of 54. He was the
beloved father of Mario Luna Jr. and Ivaletsy Munoz, cherished
grandfather of Alaixiana and loving brother of Sergio Luna, Myra
Luna and Lorena Luna. Funeral services were held at Papavero
Funeral Home on Friday, Oct. 29, followed by interment at Nassau
Knolls Cemetery, Port Washington, under the direction of Papavero
Funeral Home, Maspeth.
