OBITUARIES
MICHAEL FIORINO died on Thursday, October 17, at the age of 93. He
was the beloved husband of the late Dolores Fiorino, loving father of Lynn
Fiorino and Michele and Hale and father-in-law of Thomas, cherished grandfather
of Thomas Jr. and Aiyess Hale, and great-grandfather of Cassandra
and Thomas III. He was a U.S. Navy veteran who served during World War
II. A Mass of Christian Burial was held at St. Stanislaus Church on Monday,
October 21, followed by interment at St. John Cemetery, Middle Village, under
the direction of Papavero Funeral Home, 72-27 Grand Ave., Maspeth.

FRANK ROLLO died on Wednesday, October 16, at the age of 74. He was
the beloved brother of Elizabeth Yabur and the late Joseph Rollo, and the
cherished uncle of Jeannie Fizzuoglio. He was a U.S. Army veteran who
served during the Vietnam War. A Mass of Christian Burial was held at St.
Adalbert’s Church on Saturday, October 19, followed by interment at Mount
St. Mary Cemetery, Flushing, under the direction of Papavero Funeral Home,
72-27 Grand Ave., Maspeth.

HOWARD LIEBOLD died on Sunday, October 20, at the age of 100. He was
the beloved husband of the late Lillian Liebold, loving father of Barbara
Buonomo and the late Linda Macaluso, chershed grandfather of Jennifer, Jacqueline,
Michael, Victoria, and Amanda, and great-grandfather of Nicholas,
Natalia, Christian, Jack, and Lilly. Funeral services were held at Papavero
Funeral Home on Wednesday, Oct. 23, followed by interment at Lutheran
All-Faiths Cemetery, Middle Village, under the direction of Papavero Funeral
Home, 72-27 Grand Ave., Maspeth.

EDWARDS A. KRESSE died on Wednesday, October 16, at the age of 87.
He was the beloved husband of the late Carmen, devoted father of Joseph,
father-in-law of Mary, loving grandfather of Amanda and Adrianna, and the
dear brother of Marilyn DeMaria and Annie Witt. Funeral services were
offered at Our Lady of the Miraculous Medal Church, followed by interment
at St. John Cemetery under the direction of Hess-Miller Fneral Home, 64-19
Metropolitan Ave., Middle Village.

SANTA MERCADO, of Ridgewood, died on Tuesday, October 15, at the
age of 81. A native of Cabo Rojo, Puerto Rico, she was the beloved wife of the
late Manuel Jesus Mercado and devoted mother of Evelyn Mercado. She is
survived by three grandchildren. Funeral services were offered at Morton
Funeral Home/Ridgewood Chapels, followed by cremation at Fresh Pond
Crematory, Middle Village, under the direction of Morton Funeral Home/

ILJANA MEJIC, of Ridgewood, died on Monday, October 14, at the age
of 75. A native of Glogoni, Yugoslavia, she was the beloved wife of the late
Vasa Mejic and devoted mother of Eugenija Mejic and Tatiana Mejic. She is
survived by three grandchildren. Funeral services were offered at Morton
Funeral Home/Ridgewood Chapels, followed by interment at Linden Hill
Cemetery, Ridgewood, NY, under the direction of Morton Funeral Home/
Ridgewood Chapels, 663 Grandview Ave., Ridgewood.

MARIE I.C. RIEBLING, of Glendale, died on Thursday, October 17, at the
age of 81. She was the beloved wife of Anthony Reibling, and dear sister of
Glenn and Robert L.A. Riebling Jr. She is also survived by three grandchildren.
Services were offered at All Faiths Cemetery, Middle Village, under the
direction of Werst & LaBella Funeral Home, 71-41 Cooper Ave., Glendale.
