ATM mysteriously dumped in Glendale Board 5 to
Next year’s budget for
New York City will be
the focus of a public
hearing that Community
Board 5 will hold prior to its
next scheduled meeting on
Wednesday night, Sept. 18, in
Middle Village.
As announced by District
Manager Gary Giordano,
the session will take place
beginning at 7:30 p.m. in the
cafeteria of Christ the King
High School, located at 68-02
Metropolitan Ave.
Leading off the meeting
will be a public hearing regarding
the city’s Fiscal Year
2021 Capital and Expense
Budget Needs as they relate
to the communities of Ridgewood,
Glendale, Maspeth and
Middle Village.
Giordano stated that a capital
budget item would usually
relate to a construction need,
such as new sewers, roadway
reconstruct ion, physical
improvements to parks and
bridges, and other construction
request.
An expense budget request
would include the need for
more police officers, parks
maintenance staff, sewer and
water system workers, and
other requests usually related
to personnel.
All residents are invited
to speak out on what capital
and expense budget requests
they’d like to see for the Board
5 area in next year’s city
budget.
The hearing will be followed
by the regular Board 5 meeting
agenda, which includes
the public forum, a review of
liquor license applications and
demolition notices, reports by
Chairperson Vincent Arcuri
and District Manager Giordano,
and committee reports.
For more information or to
register to speak at the public
hearing, call the Board 5 office
at 718-366-1834. All public

Place in Glendale, adjacent to Cypress
Hills Cemetery, and notified
the police.
Whoever left the ATM there apparently
cleaned it out of cash before
depositing it on the road. According
to police sources, officers from the
104th Precinct reported that the machine
appears to have been forced
open.
As of yet, cops do not know
from where the cash machine
was removed.
After 104th Precinct officers
arrived on the scene, law enforcement
sources said, they lifted the
ATM and took it back to the precinct’s
Ridgewood stationhouse for
further investigation.
The investigation is ongoing.
Anyone with information about
the discarded ATM can call the
104th Precinct Detective Squad at
718-386-2735.
