Creep gropes woman on
Steinway Streetin Astoria
Police are searching for the creep who groped a woman as she was walking
in Astoria on Saturday, Sept. 5.
Authorities say a man approached the woman from behind as she was walking
on Steinway Street at approximately 7:05 p.m. and began to harass her. The
woman began recording the man, who police say is between 30 and 35 years, is
approximately 5 feet 9 inches tall, sports a high and tight hairstyle with a short
ponytail in the back.
The man responded by grabbing the woman’s breasts, causing her to scream, according
to authorities. The man then fl ed the scene in an unknown direction.
Police released video of the suspect on Sunday, Sept. 6.
The man was last seen wearing a beige button down shirt, dark trousers, black
sneakers and a brown leather satchel.

Cops investigating after two men
found dead in Queens
Police are investigating the deaths of two men who were found early Saturday
morning.
Offi cers from the 110th Precinct responded to a 911 call at approximately 6:30
a.m. on Sept. 5 regarding an unconscious man in front of 89-45 Elmhurst Avenue.
Upon arriving at the scene, the offi cers discovered an unconscious Hispanic man
— believed to be approximately 40 years old — laying on a basement staircase with
trauma to his head. EMS arrived and pronounced the man dead at the scene.
Police have yet to identify the man. A medical examiner is working to determine
the cause of death and the investigation is ongoing.
Approximately two hours later, at 8:10 a.m., offi cers from the 106th Precinct
responded to a 911 call regarding an unconscious man near 132-03 120th Ave. in
South Ozone Park. Upon arriving at the scene, offi cers found 50-year-old Rakha
Roopnarine laying on a mattress unconscious.
EMS arrived and pronounced Roppnarine — who is believed to be homeless
— dead at the scene. A medical examiner is working to determine the cause of
death and the investigation is ongoing.
