SOPHIE ROETHEL of Ridgewood
died on Tuesday, August 21, at the age
of 88. A native of Slovenia, she was the
wife of the late John, devoted mother
of Linda and Norbert Gerlach and
the late William, dear sister of the
Anna Maurin and the late Richard
and fond grandmother of Stephanie
and Thomas, and great-grandmother
of Colson. A Mass of Christian Burial
will be off ered on Saturday, August
25, at St. Matthias Church, Ridgewood,
followed by interment at St.
Charles Cemetery, Farmingdale, NY,
under the direction of George Werst

ERNEST FURONE of Glendale
died on Friday, August 17, at the age
of 93. He was the husband of the late
Anna and devoted father of Ernest
and Diane. He is also survived by one
grandchild. A Mass of Christian Burial

Wednesday, August 15, at the age of 84.
He was the beloved husband of Theresa
Murray, loving father of Richard Murray
and Theresa Mooney and cherished

She was the wife of the late Joseph Volatile,
loving mother of Guy and Mary
Ann Volatile and Melissa and Nestor
Li, cherished grandmother of Sean,
Christian, Cassidy, Jessica and Dylan
and dear sister of Jennie Coleman, Anna
Marino and the late Elvie, Caroline,
Clara, Freddy and Tommy. She is also
survived by many loving nieces and
