Prosecutors identified the pair as Justin Ramos, 21, of Woodhaven, and Fredrico Gonzalez, 21, of Richmond Hill. According to information from the Queens District Attorney’s office, the break-ins occurred between 5 and 9:45 a.m. on July 24 along 98th Street between Jamaica Avenue and Park Lane South. Reportedly, Ramos and Gonzalez were observed opening the side window of one home, then prying open the door of a nearby shed. Once entering the shed, the suspects removed a bicycle and fled the scene. Moments later, police said, Ramos was spotted bursting through the front door of a nearby home, causing it to crack. He reportedly grabbed a laptop computer belonging to a female resident, then exited out a back window and fled the scene. Officers from the 102nd Precinct responded to 911 calls from residents about the burglaries. During their investigation, police obtained security camera footage of the two suspects and searched the surrounding area. Reportedly, police picked up Gonzalez a short time later at the corner of 94th Street and 86th Avenue in Woodhaven, while Ramos was stopped in the area of Jamaica Avenue and 121st Street. Both men were identified as the suspects based on the security camera footage, it was noted. Gonzalez and Ramos were arraigned on July 25 on charges of second-degree burglary and attempted burglary, along with additional counts of criminal mischief, petit larceny and criminal trespassing. Ramos was ordered held on $5,000 bail, while Gonzalez’s bail was set at $2,500; they are scheduled to return to court on Aug. 7. Howard Beach CVS worker gets slashed A 62-year-old employee was attacked at the Howard Beach CVS as he was trying to stop a shoplifter looking for ice cream during the heat, authorities said. The suspect entered the store, located at 157-05 Cross Bay Blvd., about 11:40 p.m. on July 27, where he attempted to take the frozen dessert and flee, according to police. A worker tried to stop the thief from leaving and was slashed with an unknown object. The suspect was then able to get away with the ice cream. EMS transported the victim to a local hospital and was treated for two lacerations to his forehead. Police describe the suspect as a black male, about 6 feet tall, 200 pounds and with black hair. He was last seen wearing a blue T-shirt. Anyone with information regarding the incident is asked to call Crime Stoppers at 800-577-TIPS. Crook steals from a sleeping women in LIC Police are looking for a man who swiped valuables from a 61-year-old woman who fell asleep on a bench inside the Queens Plaza subway station earlier this month. The theft occurred at 6:15 a.m. on July 7 in on the mezzanine level above the E train tracks at the station located below Jackson Avenue and Queens Boulevard in Long Island City. According to authorities, the perpetrator — described as a black man between 30 and 35 years of age, standing 5 foot 8 inches tall and weighing 160 pounds — walked up to the victim after she nodded off and removed her bags, which contained her cellphone, jewelry and papers. The crook was last seen wearing a black hooded sweatshirt, a navy V-neck sweater and light-colored pants.
