Duo snatches two cellphones from
customer in Ridgewood ice cream shop
Police from the 104th Precinct in
Ridgewood are searching for a man
and a woman in connection with a
grand larceny investigation at the
Cold Stone Creamery at the southeast
corner of St. John Cemetery last week.
The couple entered the shop at 80-
28 Cooper Ave. in Ridgewood around
9 p.m. on July 14 and removed two
cellphones belonging to a 37-year-old
man that were on the counter near
the cash register, police said.
The couple can be seen on surveillance
video, with the man
checking out one of the phones
while he waits for his change as
the woman eats some ice cream.
The couple fl ed the shop in an unknown
direction and there were no
injuries reported as a result of the
incident, according to the NYPD.
The man is described to be between
the ages of 20 and 30, approximately
around 6 feet tall and weighing between
225 and 245 pounds. He was
last seen wearing a blue T-shirt, dark
shorts and white sneakers, police
said.
The woman is described to be between
the ages of 20 and 30. She was
last seen wearing a black long-sleeved
shirt, dark pants and eyeglasses, according
to authorities.

Gunmen
sought for
shooting up
Springfield
Gardens home,
grazing woman
Detectives in Queens need the
public’s help in fi nding the gunman
who shot up a house earlier this week,
leaving a woman injured.
On July 22, police released video
footage of one suspect involved in the
shooting that occurred at 11:50 p.m. on
the night of July 18 along the dead-end
block of Coombs Street off 140th Avenue
in Springfi eld Gardens.
According to law enforcement
sources, three men were involved in
the shooting. One of the suspects was
involved as a lookout while the other
two perpetrators approached the
home and began fi ring their weapons.
The video shows one of the shooters
standing in a driveway and fi ring
multiple rounds with a handgun, then
taking off on foot.
Aft er fi ring the shots, police said,
the perpetrators hopped into a lightcolored,
four-door sedan, operated by
an fourth unidentifi ed suspect, that
fl ed the location.
The incident was reported to the
113th Precinct. Police learned that a
52-year-old woman had been grazed in
the right arm by one of the fi red shots.
EMS treated her at the scene for
minor injuries.
