OBITUARIES
FRANCIS B. FILIP died Friday, July 3, at the age of 81. He was
the loving husband of Maureen Filip, loving father of Vincent
Filip and Gregory Filip and father-in-law of Christina and Christine.
He was the cherished grandfather of Stephanie, Matthew,
Tyler, Erin and the late-Cassidy and Drew and dear brother of
Eugene Filip and Diane Jacyszyn. Mr. Filip was a United States
Army veteran and longtime parishioner of St. Adalbert Church.
A Mass of Christian Burial was held Wednesday, July 8, followed
by interment at St. John Cemetery, Middle Village, under
the direction of Papavero Funeral Home, Maspeth.

DOROTHY KEEBER, a life-long resident of Ridgewood died
Tuesday, June 30 at the age of 94. She was the wife of the late-
George G. Keeber and is survived by her child George Keeber
and his wife Silvia Dominguez and Donna Diessner and her
husband Matthew Diessner. She is also survived by her two
great-granddaughters Danielle and Denise Diessner and by
many beloved nieces and nephews. Funeral services were held
at West-LaBella Funeral Home, followed by a private interment
at All Faith (Lutheran) Cemetery. In lieu of flowers please
send donations to Trinity Reformed Church 66-30 60th Place,
Ridgewood.

RICHARD STURM, of Maspeth, died Tuesday, March 19 at
the age of 95. A native of Gottschee, Austria, he was the beloved
husband of Helen Sturm for 68 years and devoted father
of Linda Helldorfer and Lori Kazlausky. He was the cherished
grandfather of Grace Warmhier (Michael), James Kazlausky
(Colleen) and John Kazlausky and dear great-grandfather of
Blake and Brody Warmhier. He was predeceased by his parents
Frank and Maria Sturn, his sister Pauline Neumeier, brothers
Alois and Hans Sturm and son-in-law Bernie Helldorfer. Private
funeral services were held Friday, March 20, followed March 21
by a private blessing at Our Lady of Hope Church and interment
at St. John Cemetery, under the direction of Village Chapels
Funeral Home, Middle Village. Donations may be made to St.
Jude Children’s Research Hospital.

Christine M. Stalzer
died on Thursday, July 2, 2020
At The Homestead in Newton, NJ. She was 86.
Born in Unterlag, Gottschee, Yugoslavia, she lived in Queens, NY
for most of her life before moving to Monroe, NY in 2005 and to
New Jersey in 2009.
Mrs. Stalzer was a wonderful cook and employed by Ogden
Aviation Food Services in New York, NY prior to retiring and was
also a talented seamstress. She was a parishioner of St. Matthias
R.C. Church in Queens, NY.
She was predeceased by her husband, William Sr. in 2003; and her
daughter Kathrine Ann Jongebloed in 2019. She is survived by her
son William Stalzer, Jr. and daughter-in-law Lynn Veronica of
Rockaway, NJ and siblings Emil Mantel of Long Island, NY and
Anna Mantel of Austria; her granddaughter, Julia (Kevin)
LaMonica; and great-grandson, William LaMonica and
great-granddaughter Chloe May LaMonica.
A funeral Mass was held on Tuesday, July 7, at St. Cecilia Church,
70 Church St., Rockaway, NJ. Entombment to follow at St.
Michael's Cemetery, East Elmhurst, NY. Arrangements entrusted
to Whitham-Kanapaux Funeral Home, 20 Keller Ave, Rockaway NJ.
