OBITUARIES
JOHN F. GAWLEY died Thursday, June 24, at the age of 84. He was the beloved husband of the late Margaret M. Gawley, loving father of John
Gawley, Noreen Gawley, Judy Gawley. Michael (Christine) Gawley and Denis Gawley, cherished grandfather of William, Brenna, Michael and
Brigid, and dear brother of Joe Gawley, Peggy Rice and the late Rosemarie Rogan. He was a fi rst sergeant United States Marine Corps veteran
and a retired NYPD police offi cer. A Mass of Christian Burial was held at St. Mary’s Church on Tuesday, June 29, followed by private cremation
at Fresh Pond Crematory, under the direction of Papavero Funeral Home, Maspeth.

JEROME F. DRAKE died Thursday, June 24, at the age of 82,. He was the beloved father of Dara and Mark Drake, devoted husband of Debbie,
and cherished grandfather of Victoria and Rebecca. He was a United States Army veteran and retired NYC Department of Education music
teacher. Private cremation was held at Fresh Pond Crematory on Friday, June 25. Memorial visitation was off ered at Papavero Funeral Home
on Monday, June 28.

BUTCHIE NEMIRKA died Sunday, June 27, at the age of 82. He was the loving father of Denise (Sam) Franzo and Lisa (Danny) Amantea and
father-in-law of Charles, the cherished grandfather of Brittany, Charles and Angelica, a loving comopanion of Madeline and a deaar uncle and
great uncle. He was a United States Army veteran and member of the Frank Kowalinski Post #4 of Maspeth. In leiu of fl owers, donations may
be made to a veterans organization of your choice. Funeral services were hled at Papavero Funeral Home on Wednesday, June 30, followed by
private cremation at Fresh Pond Crematory, under the direction od Papavero Funeral Home.
