OBITUARIES
GLADYS A. POWELL died Wednesday, June 9, at the age of 83.She was the beloved wife of the late Donald Lee Powell and
loving sister of Dinorah Alonso, Romeo Coto, Hugo Coto and the late Lillian Garcia and Yolando Marino. She is also survived
by many loving nieces and nephews. A Mass of Christian Burial was offered at St. Mary’s CHurch on Monday, June 14, followed
by interment at Calvary Cemetery, under the direction of Papavero Funeral Home, Maspeth.

ANGELA GOMEZ died Thursday, June 10, at the age of 73. She was the beloved mother of Daniel Gomez, Laura Alejandra
Desmoineaux and Joe Gomez, loving grandmother of Daniela, Sasha Alena, Adrian and Ava, cherished great-grandmother
of Noah and Selah and dear sister of Felipe Paez and the late Henry Paez. Prive cremation was held on Monday, June 14, at
Fresh Pond Crematory. A Mass of Christian Burial will be offered at St. Bartholomew Church on Friday, June 18, at 9:30 a.m.,
under the direction of Papavero Funeral Home, Maspeth.

HELEN SPERANZA died Saturday, June 12, at the age of 84. She was the beloved wife of the late Sabino “Sam” Speranza,
loving mother of Joann and Daniel and mother-in-law of Kerri, cherished grandmother of Matthew and Samuel and dear
sister of Marie Valentino. She is also survived by many loving nieces, nephews and friends. A Mass of Christian Burial will
be offered at our Lady of Hope Church at 9:34 a.m. on Thursday, June 17, followed by entombment at St. John Cemetery Christ
the Redeemer Mausoleum, under the direction of Papavero Funeral Home, Maspeth.

EDWARD G. ZAGAJESKI died Sunday, June 13, at the age of 89. He was the beloved husband of Clara Zagajeski, loving
father of Stephen Zagajeski and Edward Zagajeski and father-in-law of Alexandria and Nancy, and cherished grandfather
of Jessica, Robert, William and Daina. He was a United States Navy veteran who served during the Korean Conflict. A Mass
of Christian Burial will be offered at St. Adalbert’s Church at 10 a.m. on Thursday, June 17, followed by interment at St. John
Cemetery, under the direction of Papavero Funeral Home, Maspeth.
