Thursday, June 9 Entertainment – K & A Social Club is hosting a wide variety of talented comedians from all over New York metropolitan area. Laughter will be guaranteed. It’s always a great time. The show will be from 9 p.m. to 3 a.m. and will be at 66-48 Myrtle Ave., Flushing. Kids – The Ridgewood library will be hosting a puppet show of “Jack and the Beanstalk.” The show is hosted by Nappy’s Puppets and will be funny, fast-paced and actionpacked. The show will be from 2 to 3 p.m. and will be at 20-12 Madison St., Ridgewood. Culture – The Rego Park library is hosting a book discussion and film screening with famous Russian-American political analysts and authors, Vladimir Solovyov and Elena Klepikova. Solovyov and Klepikova are co-authors of numerous books. Their latest book is on Donald Trump and the presidential elections in the United States. The film, “My Neighbor, Sergey Dovlatov” will also be screening. The event will be from 6 to 7:30 p.m. and will be held at 91-41 63 Dr., Rego Park. Education – Representatives from Chhaya will be discussing how to improve financial health by explaining budgets, savings, banking and credit. Understanding credit will be the focus for this class. The class will be from 5:30 to 7:30 p.m. and will be held at the Woodside library, 54-22 Skillman Ave., Woodside. Friday, June 10 Fun & Games – Come to the Woodhaven library and play one of many board games. All ages are welcome. Game day will be from 4 to 5 p.m. and will be held at 85-41 Forest Pkwy., Woodhaven. Saturday, June 11 Culture – Come on by to the Family Strawberry Festival, hosted by the Onderdonk House. The festival will be celebrating Flag Day with live music and entertainment and classic cars from the East Coast Car Association. There will be refreshments which include strawberry shortcake. More fun activities include children’s crafts, pie-eating contests, face-painting, old-fashioned games, and tours of the Onderdonk House. The Festival will be from noon to 4 p.m. rain or shine and will be held at 1820 Flushing Ave., Ridgewood. Admission is $5 for adults, $1 for 4- to 12-year-olds and free for children under 3. The festival will be great! Art – The Ridgewood Artist Coalition will be having its monthly meeting where artists and art enthusiasts can come and share their ideas and discuss about art. Even if you are not a creator of art yourself, as long as you are interested in art, this group is for you. The meeting will be from 5 to 6:30 p.m. and will be taking place at Woodbine 18-82 Woodbine St., New York. Sunday, June 12 Art – The Ridgewood Market is hosting the Sunday Brunch Bazaar. The artisan market will feature more than 40 independent and local artisan vendors. They will be selling local, artisan and vintage gifts. There will be food, alcohol and brunch. Entry is free. The bazaar will be from 11 a.m. to 5 p.m. and will be at the Gottscheer Hall, 657 Fairview Ave., Ridgewood. Entertainment – The K & A Social Club is hosting a night of Pub Quiz. Six rounds of trivia categories ranging from sports to music. Second place gets beer swag prizes whereas first place gets a $25 tab. The fun starts at 6 p.m. and is at 66-48 Myrtle Ave., Flushing. Alcohol – Bridge and Tunnel Brewery will be serving darker beers and flavorful beers. The current line leans toward colorful beer. Monday, June 13 Entertainment – The Woodside library will be hosting a performance led by renowned pianist, composer, arranger and bandleader Pablo Mayor, from Cali, Colombia. The Trio will be performing traditional songs and other, more original compositions inspired by the culture of Colombia. The performance will be from 2 to 3 p.m. and will be at 54-22 Skillman Ave., Woodside. Education – Jing Chen, a skilled dance instructor who has studied ballroom dance at the school founded by internationally acclaimed dancers Mr. and Mrs. Lu Ming Da, will be giving lessons on ballroom basics for beginners and will offer higher training for more advanced students. The lesson will go from 6:30 to 7:30 and will be hosted at the Forest Hills library, 108-19 71st Ave., Forest Hills. Tuesday, June 14 Education – The Forest Hills library will be hosting an AARP driving class geared toward older adults. Come by and learn to drive! The class will be from 1 to 4 p.m. and will be at 108-19 71st Ave., Forest Hills. Education – The Woodhaven library is hosting a craftmaking program where kids and teens can learn the basics of starting a business while helping raise funds that will go to support the library. The class will be from 4 to 5 p.m. and will be at 85-41 Forest Pkwy., Woodhaven. Wednesday, June 15 Entertainment – The Queens Tavern will be hosting an event called SOUND VISION which will primarily feature music videos.
