KATHLEEN LOFTUS died Tuesday, March 30, at the age of 84. She was the beloved wife
of the late John T. Loft us, loving mother of John Loft us, Jane Conroy, Linda Loft us-Cotov and
Kenneth Loft us, cherished grandmother of Colleen, Meghan, Johnny, Joseph, Matt, Katie
Rose, Kimberly and Laila and great grandmother of Hannah, Jack and Braelyn, and dear
sister of John Leahy, Mary McLoughlin and Eileen McGovern. A Mass of Christian Buriaul
was off ered at Transfi guration Church on Tuesday, April 6, followed by interment at Mount
Olivet Cemetery, under the direction of Papavero Funeral Home, Maspeth.

NELSON GARCIA died Thursday, April 1, at the age of 88. He was the beloved husband
of the late Graciela Garcia, loving father of Eddie Garcia, Maurice Garcia and Lily Shaukat,
cherished grandfather of Michelle, Alexander, Omar, Yasmeen, Amber, Christopher, Amanda
and Hannah, and dear brother of Mercedes Andrade, Francisco Garcia and Emilio Garcia. He
is also survived by many loving nieces, nephews, cousins and friends. A Mass of Christian
Burial will be off ered at Queen of Angels Church at 10 a.m. on Thursday, April 8, followed by
interment at Calvary Cemetery, under the direction of Papavero Funeral Home, Maspeth.

ANNE O’CONNOR GAYNOR died Saturday, March 27, at the age of 74. She was the beloved
wife of the late Vincent Gaynor, loving sister of John O’Connor and the late Tommy O’Connor
and Bill O’Connor, and dear sister-in-law of Debbie O’Connor, and cherished aunt of Kaitlyn &
Anthony, Tom and Matt, and great aunt of Connor. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at
9:30 a.m. at St. Mary’s Church on Saturday, April 10, followed by private cremation at Fresh
Pond Crematory, under the direction of Papavero Funeral Home, Maspeth.

PAUL MAUCELI died Tuesday, March 30, at the age of 79. He was the beloved father of
Angela Casasanta, Vita Como and Maria Mauceli, loving grandfather of Salvatore, Josephine,
Angela, Jessia, Vanessa, Francesco and Luca and cherished great grandfather of Mia, and dear
brother of Charlie Mauceli, Giuseppe Mauceli and Salvatore Mauceli. He is also survived
by many loving nieces, nephews, cousins and friends. He was a life-long master shoemaker
and former proprietor of Paul’s Shoe Repair in Maspeth. A Mass of Christian Burial was
off ered at Our Lady of Hope Church on Wednesday, April 7, followed by entombment at St.
John Cemetery, under the direction of Papavero Funeral Home, Maspeth.

WILLIAM O’NEILL died Wednesday, March 31, at the age of 91. He was the beloved husband
of the late Linda O’Neill, loving father of Patrick and William O’Neill, and cherished
grandfather of Jamal and Corey. He was a United States Army veteran who served during
