Many did talk at tables, but more walked about, finding interesting discussions themselves. The firm also produced and distributed a booklet based on input from several communities and featured section by section descriptions of six park areas. The named areas are, from north to south: The Clearing; North Passage; Metropolitan Hub; Forest Park Grove; South Passage and The Elevated. The incident reportedly occurred just before 8 p.m. last Tuesday, Mar. 25, as Delta Airlines Flight 1102 flew over Queens northbound on its final approach toward LaGuardia Airport. Somewhere over Queens Boulevard in Elmhurst, law enforcement sources said, a green laser beam flashed into the cockpit twice, causing one of the pilots to experience flash blindness and severe disruption. The plane eventually made a safe landing at LaGuardia Airport, but federal agents indicated the pilot suffered pain in his right eye for a time after the incident. It was the latest in a series of incidents near the city’s airports of airplanes being affected by laser beams being flashed by people on the -SEE LASER ON PG. 28- The Friends of the QueensWay— supporters of a plan to build a linear, 55 acre park atop the defunct Rockaway Beach Long Island Rail Road tracks—held a second series of public workshops in Ozone Park and Blinded By The Laser Light Flying Over Qns. Feds Want To Know Who Flashed Jet Getting Prom Dresses In Ridgewood The Legacy Center warehouse held a prom dress giveaway Saturday, Mar. 29 from 1 to 4 p.m. in Ridgewood. At the event, girls that could not afford a prom dress were able to pick one out for free. The effort, part of “Project PROMises,” distributed dresses donated by young women and businesses in the area so that girls can step out in style on their big night.
