FRANCES ANEST died Thursday, Feb. 10, at the age of 83. He was the beloved
wife of the late Nicholas “Nicky Pops” Anest, loving mother of Christine, Nicholas
and Peter Anest and mother-in-law of Lori, cherished grandmother of Kaylin, Nicole,
Matthew, Robert and Michael, and dear sister of Anthony & Cecilia Assante
and the late Rosemary and Bernadette. In lieu of fl owers, memorial donations may
be made to St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital. A Mass of Christian Burial was
off ered at Our Lady of Hope Church on Tuesday, Feb. 15, followed by interment at
Mount Olivet Cemetery, under the direction of Papavero Funeral Home, Maspeth.

JOHN J. BROWNE died Thursday, Feb. 10 at the age of 82. Originally of Kanturk
County Cork, Ireland, he was the proud proprieter of the Grandstand Bar &
Restaurant in Elmhurst. He was the beloved husband of Christine Browne, loving
father of Denis Browne, Mark Browne, Michael Browne, Maureen DeNicola and
the late John Browne, cherished grandfather of CJ, Kyle, Nicholas, Connor, Reilly,
Logan, Andrew and Ryan and great-grandfather of Colin and Kaylee, and dear
brother of Billy, Michael, Tadg, Anthony, Marian and the late Christy, James and
Denis. He was a U.S. Army veteran who served during the Vietnam era. A Mass
of Christian Burial was off ered at St. Batholomew Church on Wednesday, Feb. 16,
followed by interment at St. James Episcopal Church Cemetery, Saint James, NY,
under the direction of Papavero Funeral Home, Maspeth.

MARY ‘PATTI’ MONACO died Monday, Feb. 7, at the age of 71. She was the
beloved wife of the late John R. Monaco, loving mother of Ashley Monaco and
a dear sister. She is also sirvived by many loving nieces, nephews and friends.
A Mass of Christian Burial was off ered at St. Cecilia’s Church on Thursday, Feb.
10, followed by interment at St. John Cemetery, under the direction of Papavero
Funeral Home, Maspeth.

DOROTHY ‘DOT’ SCHNEIDER (NEE SCHULTZ) died Saturday, Feb. 12, aft er
a short illness. 1931 saw the birth of a number of New York icons: the Empire State
Building, the George Washington Bridge, and Dot. Born in Manhattan amid the
Depression, she married Henry Schneider, Jr. in 1949. Aft er raising seven children
in Greenpoint, Brooklyn, Dot and Hank moved to Woodhaven, Queens, in 1992,
where they spent the last three decades. She had a lifelong love of animals and had
well over a dozen cats and dogs over the years. Dot and Hank cherished nearly
73 years of marriage. She is survived by her husband Henry Schneider, Jr.; her
children Evelyn (John), Henry, Thomas, Theresa (Michael), Richard (Kristine),
and Marie (John); her grandchildren Michael, Cheryl, Kristopher, and Kate; her
great grandchildren Lisa, Brian, and Gina; her siblings Sylvia (Fred), Catherine,
John (Peggy), and Patricia; and many cousins, nieces, and nephews. She joins
her parents, her beloved son Robert and several of her siblings in returning to
the Lord. In her honor, the family would welcome a charitable donation to North
Shore Animal League in Port Washington, NY; Little Shelter in Huntington, NY;
the ASPCA; your local animal shelter; or the Make A Wish Foundation, which
she also supported throughout her life.

EDWARD P. RIORDAN died Saturday, Feb. 12, at the age of 80. He was the
beloved husband of Joan Riordan, loving dad of Michael (Tara) Riordan, Christopher
(Melissa) Riordan, Kevin (Julie) Riordan and Mary Beth Riordan, cherished
grandfather of Madeleine, John, Liam, Brendan, Colin and Sean, and dear brother
of Michael Riordan and Janet Peters. He is also survived by many loving nieces,
nephews, cousins and friends. In lieu of fl owers, memorial donations may be
made to Memorial Sloan-Kettering Cancer Center. A Mass of Christian Burial
was scheduled to be off ered at St. Adlabert’s Church on Thursday, Feb. 17, at 10
a.m., followed by interment at Pinelawn Memorial Park, under the direction of
Papavero Funeral Home, Maspeth.

sister of Janet Zaino, loving daughter of the late Dr. felix & Anne Zaino, and a dear
cousin. A graveside funeral service was scheduled to be off ered Friday, Feb. 18,
at St. John Cemetery, under the direction of Papavero Funeral Home, Maspeth .

IRMA VAZQUEZ died Friday, Feb. 11, at the age of 64. She was the beloved
mother of Rosa Garcia, Denise (Guillermo) Ramirez, Wanda Ramirez and Rick
Ramirez, and cherished grandmother of Harley, Gonzalo, Jorge and Izel. Private
cremationw as held on Tuesday, Feb. 15, at All Souls Crematory. Memorial visitation
was scheduled to be held at Papavero Funeral Home from 3 to 5 p.m. on
Sunday, Feb. 20.
