He was the devoted husband of the late Margaret Fuoco, father of Joe Fuoco, father-inlaw of Jeanette Fuoco, brother of Josephine Ragon and Anthony Fuoco. He was a U.S. Navy veteran who served during World War II, worked at the Brooklyn Navy Yard until it closed in 1966, then worked at Floyd Bennett Field. In 1993, after 50 years as a federal government employee, he retired from St. Albans Hospital. He was also instrumental in helping to start Joe Fuoco’s Music Center in Glendale. Visitation will be held on Saturday and Sunday, January 30 and 31, at George Werst Funeral Home, 71-41 Cooper Ave., Glendale. A Mass of Christian Burial will be offered at 10:15 a.m. on Monday, February 1, at St. Matthias Church, Ridgewood, followed by interment at All Faiths Cemetery, Middle Village. DOLORES V. VALK of Middle Village died on Saturday, January 23, at the age of 87. A native of Brooklyn, she was the devoted mother of Sharon Ottati and the late William Bethon. She is also survived by grandchildren Frank, Justina, Jason, William, Charles and Latisha and three great-grandchildren. She was a legal secretary for many years. Services were offered at Village Chapels Inc., 67-67 Eliot Ave., Middle Village, followed by cremation at Fresh Pond Crematory, Middle Village. +++ SANTA PANICO died on Tuesday, January 19, at the age of 92. She was the wife of the late Edward Panico, loving mother of Dennis A. Panico and the late Frank Panico, mother-inlaw of Maria, cherished grandmother of Dana, Andrew and Dennis E. and great-grandmother of Taylor. A Mass of Christian Burial was offered on Friday, January 22, at Ascension Church, Elmhurst, followed by interment at St. John Cemetery, Middle Village, under the direction of Papavero Funeral Home, 72-27 Grand Ave., Maspeth. +++ HAROLD L. WILKEN of Ridgewood died on Thursday, January 14, at the age of 82. A retired employee of American Airlines at John F. Kennedy International Airport, he was the beloved husband of Constance (nee Flynn), devoted father of Richard and Thomas, loving grandfather of Jill Marinakis and Thomas Wilken and dear great-grandfather of Bailey, Kasen and Maria. He was also a member of the William A. Leonard American Post.
