NYPD searching for gunman
who opened fi re on Sutphin
Boulevard in Jamaica
Police from the 103rd Precinct in
Jamaica are looking for a gunman in a
non-fatal shooting in broad daylight that
was caught on camera on the aft ernoon
of Tuesday, March 1.
Th e incident occurred just before 1:30
p.m. as a 39-year-old man was standing
in front of a storefront at 107-45 Sutphin
Blvd. Th e suspect approached and engaged
in a verbal dispute with the victim,
and suddenly pulled out a handgun and
shot him once in the left hip, police said.
According to police, the gunman
took off running eastbound on Sutphin
Boulevard. EMS responded to the scene
and transported the victim to Jamaica
Hospital Medical Center, where he was
listed in stable condition.
Th e NYPD released video surveillance of
the shooting incident and other images of
the suspect who is described as a man in his
30s with a dark complexion, around 6 feet
tall and 180 pounds with a medium build.
Th e suspect was last seen wearing
a black jacket, black pants, bright red
sneakers and a black mask.

Police looking for a couple
in a slashing incident on a
G train in Long Island City
Just hours before the NYPD revealed
that crime increased in the city’s subway
system by more than 73% compared to
February 2021, there was an additional
incident of violence aboard a G train in
Long Island City on the morning of Th ursday,
March 3.
Police from the 108th Precinct and
Transit District 20 are looking for a man
and a woman who were on a G train inside
the Court Square subway station when
the woman snatched a cellphone from a
straphanger and punched her in the face,
according to the NYPD.
A 37-year-old man came to the assistance
of the victim and the second suspect
pulled out a sharp object and slashed him,
causing a laceration to his wrist, police
said. Th e two suspects fl ed the train and
the injured rider was transported by EMS
to Elmhurst Hospital Center in stable
condition, police said.
Th e NYPD released surveillance photos
of the two suspects. Th e man was wearing
a dark hooded bubble jacket with red
gloves, a black facemask and dark pants.
Th e woman was wearing a dark hooded
winter jacket.

Road rage shooting on
Jackie Robinson Parkway in
Queens leaves man injured
An apparent road rage shooting on the
Jackie Robinson Parkway in Queens on the
morning of Saturday, March 5, left a 28-yearold
man seriously injured, police reported.
Law enforcement sources said the victim
got into a dispute with another driver as
they both traveled westbound on the parkway
near Metropolitan Avenue (Exit 6) in
Forest Hills at about 7:35 a.m. on March 5.
Th e dispute then turned violent, cops
said, when the other, unidentifi ed driver
opened fire on the 28-year-old man,
shooting him in the back and leg before
continuing westbound along the parkway
toward Brooklyn.
Th e injured victim managed to continue
driving along the parkway another 2 1/2
miles before getting off at Cypress Hills
Street (Exit 3) in Glendale and seeking help.
Officers from the 102nd and 104th
Precincts soon arrived on the scene. EMS
rushed the injured man to Brookdale University
Hospital for treatment of injuries
not considered life-threatening.
Portions of the parkway were closed to
traffi c as police conducted an investigation
into the shooting.
So far, no arrests have been made in the
case. Th e unidentifi ed shooter was last seen
behind the wheel of a white vehicle, police
sources said.
