Jamaica rings in the holiday season in style
Th ere was plenty to be jolly about on
Dec. 9 during the annual “Holidays on
the Avenue” tree lighting and children’s
holiday workshop in Jamaica. Snow fell
on Rufus King Park as the community
gathered to light the tree. Th ey then
moved the festivities inside to Grace
Church, where local kids got a chance
to make all kinds of holiday craft s and
enjoy entertainment and a visit from
Santa Claus himself. Among the event
sponsors were the Friends of Rufus
King Park , EJM Insurance Brokers, the
Cultural Collaborative of Jamaica, City
Councilman Rory Lancman and Literacy
Inc.
