Man sought for stealing
credit cards from delivery
trucks in Ridgewood
and Maspeth: NYPD
Th e NYPD is looking for a man who
stole several bags fi lled with credit cards
from two delivery trucks in Ridgewood
and Maspeth last month.
On Friday, Nov. 13, around 10 a.m.,
outside of 19-05 Starr St., in Ridgewood,
an unidentifi ed man snuck into an unoccupied
delivery truck, belonging to an
online delivery company, as its driver
dropped off packages, according to the
NYPD.
Th e man took a bag containing credit
cards and left in an unknown direction,
cops said. Th e man later attempted to
use the stolen credit cards at local stores,
according to the police.
A few days later, on Th ursday, Nov. 19,
around 1 p.m., the suspect again entered a
delivery truck, owned by the same company,
in front of 59-36 Maurice Ave., in
Maspeth, while the driver was out making
a delivery, according to the authorities.
Again, the man stole a bag fi lled with
credit cards and later attempted to use
them at local shops, cops said.
Police recovered several surveillance
photos of the man as he attempted to use
the credit cards to make unauthorized
purchases.
No arrests have been made and the
investigation is ongoing.

Man crashes into security
gate during attempted
theft of Con Edison truck
in Astoria: NYPD
Th e NYPD is searching for a man who
tried to steal a Con Edison truck from
one of the power company’s parking
lots in Astoria over the weekend, only to
crash into a nearby security gate, according
to authorities.
On Sunday, Nov.
1, around 4:30 a.m.,
the unidentified
man walked into the
parking lot of the
Con Edison facility
located at 31-01
20th Ave., according
to the police.
The man then
hopped into a
Con Edison 2018
Chevrolet Colorado
parked in the lot,
cops said. But he
didn’t make it too
far. Th e man began
to drive the car but
quickly crashed
into a security gate,
according to the
NYPD. He then got
out of the car and
ran off on foot.
Police, who recovered a photo of the
suspect from a dashboard camera inside
the Con Edison car, describe the man
as being in his 30s with a slim build. He
was last seen wearing a white jacket.

Man in stable condition
after being shot in the chest
in Ridgewood: NYPD
Police are investigating the shooting of
a 22-year-old man in Ridgewood on the
aft ernoon of Sunday, Dec. 6.
Th e shooting incident, which is the fi rst
in the past month in the 104th Precinct,
took place on Dec. 6 around 5 p.m.,
according to the NYPD.
Police received a 911 call about a man
shot near Grandview Avenue and Bleecker
Street, cops said. Offi cers arrived to fi nd a
22-year-old with a gunshot wound to his
chest.
Th e man was taken to Wyckoff Heights
Medical Center by private means in stable
condition, according to the authorities.
Police say the victim has been “highly
uncooperative” with detectives.
No arrests have been made and the
investigation is ongoing.
