Police looking for suspect
who threatened an E train
rider before making off with
cellphone in Jackson Heights
Th e NYPD has released video surveillance
images of a suspect in a robbery
in broad daylight at the Jackson Heights
transit hub last month.
At around 11:30 a.m. on Monday,
Nov. 15, on the E train platform inside
the Roosevelt Avenue-Broadway subway
station, an 18-year-old man was
approached by the unidentifi ed man
who asked to use his cellphone.
Th e victim produced his
gold iPhone 10XMax valued
at $399. Th e assailant
ripped the phone from the
victim’s hand and threatened
to punch him if the
victim tried to take it back,
police said.
Th e suspect jumped on a
Manhattan-bound E train
and the victim was not
injured.
Th e video shows a Black
man with short dreadlocks
and facial hair wearing a
dark puff y winter jacket
and a dark baseball cap,
white earbuds and blue
jeans.
No arrests have been
made. Th e investigation is
ongoing.

Couple mugs 75-year-old
man walking through
Queensbridge Park last
weekend: NYPD
A 75-year-old man strolling through
the northern edge of Queensbridge Park
in Long Island City was mugged by a
couple, according to the NYPD.
Th e victim was approached by a man
and a woman who proceeded to shove
him to the ground. Th e woman physically
restrained the man’s arms from behind,
while her partner went through the victim’s
pocket and removed his wallet containing
a debit card and $20 in cash,
police said.
Th e assailants fl ed the park on foot
heading to a deli located at 10-03 40th
Ave.Th
e victim pursued his alleged muggers
and confronted the woman inside
the deli as she was attempting to use his
debit card at an ATM.
A physical altercation ensued between
the victim and the woman, and the
woman took off running with her
partner, who had been outside the deli
acting as a lookout.
Th e victim was not injured and refused
medical attention at the scene, police
said.Th
e NYPD released surveillance photos
that were taken at the deli. Th e man
was wearing a light-blue Yankees baseball
cap under a dark hoodie with a
black leather jacket, dark jeans and white
sneakers.

Man robs $72,000 from
Queens Boulevard bodega in
Elmhurst last month: NYPD
Police from the 110th Precinct in
Elmhurst are on the lookout for a man
who walked into a Queens Boulevard
bodega last month and made off with
$72,000 in cash, according to the NYPD.
Th e suspect entered the Sariling Atin
Grill and Filipino Grocery, located at
89-12 Queens Blvd., just aft er 8 p.m.
on Saturday, Nov. 20, and went directly
behind the unattended counter. Th e man
can be seen on video surveillance as he
rifl ed through the cash register, removing
the $72,000 before exiting the store.
Th e suspect then walked around the
corner, removed the mask and the hooded
sweatshirt he was wearing during the
robbery, and hid the cash in the hoodie
before taking off in a dark-colored Nissan
SUV, police said.
No arrests have been made, and the
investigation is ongoing.
