The Mineola-based retailer of fur and leather goods has operated on Jericho Turnpike since 1947, and its new location two blocks east of its original location provides an updated and expanded showroom and factory as well as a brand-new cold storage facility. Tsontos’ new location brings with it the store’s old-school charm, remaining a Mineola mainstay. Bill Greene, Tsontos’ owner since 1999 and president of Mineola’s Chamber of Commerce, was joined at the reception by friends and family as well as Mineola Mayor Scott Strauss and New York state Senator Jack Martins. HONORED Left to right: Sue Pemberton, Beth Minardi, Sonya Dove, Lois Christie, Gina Khan, Suzanne Sturm (for Kris Sorbie) and Roy Peters. Six of the best colorists in the world were awarded the prestigious “Icons of Color” Award on Oct. 20 at Intercoiffure’s Fall Atelier in New York City. Lois Christie of Christie & Co. Salon and Spa in Bayside, president of Intercoiffure America/Canada (ICA), presented the awards.
