NYPD searching for knifewielding
man behind Court
Square slashing attack
Police from the 108th Precinct and
Transit District 20 are looking for a man
in connection with a knife attack at a
Court Square subway station in Long
Island City earlier this month.
On Saturday, Aug. 1, a 36-year-old
man was followed by an unidentifi ed
man into the elevator at the Court
Square subway station, according to the
NYPD.
The assailant pulled out a knife and
slashed the victim across the face and
then fled on foot out of the station,
police said. EMS responded to the
crime scene and transported the victim
to Mt. Sinai Hospital in Astoria
where he was listed in stable condition,
police said.
Th e NYPD on Aug. 17 released
surveillance video of the suspect.
Th e man was last seen wearing a black
T-shirt, black shorts and white Nike
sneakers.

Pair critically injured in
shooting outside Ozone
Park gas station
Two men were critically injured aft er
being shot outside a Queens gas station
on the night of Sunday, Aug. 29, police
reported.
Law enforcement sources said the
shooting happened at about 6:15 p.m.
on Aug. 29 outside the Exxon gas station
at 98-21 Rockaway Blvd. in Ozone
Park.
Police sources reported that the two
men, ages 54 and 57, were standing outside
the location when the unidentifi
ed shooter walked up and began fi ring
shots.
Th e motive for the shooting remains
unclear at this time, sources familiar
with the investigation reported.
Authorities said the 54-year-old man
took three bullets to his arm, chest and
back, while the 57-year-old man was
shot twice in the back and torso. Aft er
opening fi re, the unknown shooter fl ed
the scene, cops said.
Offi cers from the 106th Precinct
responded to the incident. EMS rushed
both victims to Jamaica Hospital, where
they were listed in critical condition.
So far, no arrests have been made in
the ongoing investigation, police said.

Murray Hill bank heist stymied
by sharp-eyed teller: NYPD
An attempted heist at a Murray Hill
bank last week was thwarted by an inquisitive
teller.
Police from the 109th Precinct are looking
for a man who entered the Chase bank
at 35-36 154th St. at around 2:20 p.m.
on Th ursday, Aug. 26, approached a teller
and passed a note demanding money,
police said.
When another teller walked over to
read the note, the suspect took off on foot
in an unknown direction empty-handed.
Police described the man as an adult
man in his 30s, 5’9” tall and 230 pounds
with black hair. He was last seen wearing a
white T-shirt, dark pants, dark shoes, eyeglasses,
a white face mask and he was carrying
a dark-colored book bag.
No arrests have been made, and the
investigation is ongoing.
