US 2021 Open tournament returns with diverse dining options

Th is year, along with the return of
word-class tennis and entertainment
at the USTA Billie Jean King National
Tennis Center in Flushing, the 2021 U.S.
Open is welcoming back fans with a wide
variety of dining options, refl ecting the
vibrancy and culture of New York City.
Aft er last year’s tournament was held
without spectators due to COVID-19,
the 2021 U.S. Open is presenting a lineup
of world-renowned chefs and dining
options curated by the United States
Tennis Association (USTA) and hospitality
partner Levy.
Th ere will be multiple on-site restaurants
and concession areas near the courts
off ering fans the ultimate premium food
experience — from pizza and tacos to
sandwiches and seafood.
“Th e U.S. Open food experience is second
to none as we bring the bold fl avors
of New York for fans from around the
world to enjoy during this world-class
tournament,” said Danny Zausner, chief
operating offi cer of USTA Billie Jean
King National Tennis Center. “We will
off er fans a mix of new concepts and
returning favorites and we are proud to
support and spotlight the New York food
scene here at the USTA Billie Jean King
National Tennis Center.”
Th e U.S. Open attracts more than
700,000 fans throughout the course of the
tournament that will take place from Aug.
30 through Sept. 12. U.S. Open Executive
Chef Jim Abbey and a culinary team of
250 prepare cuisine across seven restaurants,
60 concession stands and 90 suites.
Among the returning favorites, there
are some new restaurants — such as
Eataly, Los Tacos No. 1, Stuf ’d, Stacked
Sandwich Shop, San Matteo NYC and
URBAN — that will be serving up some
delicious cuisines.
Here’s a complete list of the dining
options that will be off ered at the 2021
U.S. Open tournament:
Food Village & Concessions
Eataly: Eataly encompasses the history
and the food culture of Italy, the ease to
prepare its dishes, and the many qualities
that Italy has to off er. Focused on providing
high-quality, sustainable products for all,
Eataly is the largest Italian retail and dining
experience in the world, transforming
the way consumers experience food, beverage
and culture.
• Tagliatelle Bolognese

• Prosciutto and mozzarella
• Tiramisu
Los Tacos No. 1: Los Tacos No. 1 was created
aft er three close friends from Tijuana,
Mexico, and Brawley, California, decided
to bring the authentic Mexican taco to the
East Coast. Th e authentic taste comes from
family recipes and from fresh, simple and
tasteful ingredients straight from home. In
every taco from Los Tacos No. 1, there is a
bit of true Mexican culture and fl avor.

Stuf’d (new in 2021): Stuf’d is based
in Brooklyn and serves a variety of Stuf’d
gourmet sandwiches.
• Th e Ace – Garlic buttered Texas toast

in house barbecue aioli and Colby Jack
cheese
• Th e Corned Beef – Garlic buttered
Texas toast with corned beef caramelized
in a strong ground mustard and Swiss

Stacked Sandwich Shop: Local to Forest

using only the best ingredients.

San Matteo NYC: With multiple
Manhattan locations, San Matteo NYC
brings the tradition and expertise of
Neapolitan pizza from Salerno, Italy, to the
U.S. Open for the fi rst time.
URBUN: Baos and boba teas from this
new addition to Backyard x17 will delight
with an array of refreshing teas and mouthwatering
bao buns.

Pat LaFrieda’s: New York’s fi nest meats
and fresh produce return to U.S. Open
concessions:

‘Wichcraft : Carefully sourced,
thoughtfully prepared, clean
food. Award-winning Chef Tom
Colicchio’s ‘Wichcraft brings its handcraft
ed sandwiches and salads to US Open
concessions this year including the following
menu items:
• Grilled flank steak and kale
sandwich: Flank steak, sautéed kale,
aged cheddar roasted red peppers, garlic
dressing, pressed ciabatta
• Roasted turkey & avocado: Roasted
turkey, avocado, bacon, balsamic onion
relish, aioli, toasted ciabatta
• Grilled chicken & spicy slaw: Grilled
chicken, avocado, coleslaw, sweet chili

Johnson’s innovative Harlem restaurant

and more, including the double chicken

Hill Country Barbecue: A New York
favorite and staple at the U.S. Open for several
years returns with signature housesmoked
meats and barbecue sides.
•Pulled pork sandwich: Hill Country’s
signature smoked, pulled pork and barbecue
sauce
Korilla BBQ & Poke Yachty: Both
Korilla and Poke Yachty are featured in
Food Village, serving their signature take
on Korean barbecue and fresh fi sh bowls.

Le Chef Paul’s Creperie: Chef Paul

steakhouse sides in Arthur Ashe
Stadium.
Mojito by David Burke: Th e menu will
be a Cuban-Asian-American fusion spot
and is located on the ground fl oor of
Arthur Ashe Stadium near the Heineken
Red Star Patio Cafe.
ACES: Michelin Star recipient chef Ed
Brown and Masaharu Morimoto once
again team up to dazzle diners at the U.S.
Open’s pre-eminent seafood stop. Guests
