GREAT NECK NISSAN MORE SPACE, BETTER SERVICE Going in for service, picking out that first car, or even finding a new one will be set to cruise control. Joe Valentino from Great Neck Nissan is in the midst of constructing the largest Nissan dealership, under one roof, in the country. Great Neck Nissan, in business for five years now, is currently undergoing a $5 million renovation that’s slated to be complete in April. The new 42,000-square-foot location, at 250 Northern Boulevard, will merge two buildings — one housing the current Great Neck Nissan, the other is a former Mazda dealership. And the numbers are going up big time. Great Neck Nissan, whose mission is “treat every visitor like an honored guest in our home,” is going from seven to 19 service bays within its building. When coming in for service cars can drive directly indoors into a state-of-the-art temperature controlled environment. The building’s second floor will now be able to hold about 80 cars as well, many of which will be new, innovative models Nissan is putting out. The staff at Great Neck Nissan hopes to see a spike in sales and service resulting from the renovation. Valentino expects car sales to increase from 100 to 300 cars per month, and services from 40 to 100 per day. Valentino said the choice to remodel now was two-fold: the neighboring building became available and Nissan is planning on new cars. The new dealership will give patrons a new experience. The new facility will include sites for manicures, pedicures and massages, along with a bakery. While waiting, customers can enjoy television shows and movies on a new 70-inch screen. Between the comfort and new facility, the idea is to make coming in for service less of a task and something more enjoyable. “What we’re trying to do is make it an experience, not just a chore,” Valentino said. And the blueprint for the revamped building will do just exactly that. Soon, shoppers and car owners coming in to Great Neck Nissan will be able to enjoy all of these amenities in an environment that says “comfort.” But helping customers is something Great Neck Nissan has always valued, and prioritizing customer care is just the next step. In the wake of Sandy, the dealership’s staff helped car owners with transportation, assessment and repair of damaged vehicles, and worked with insurance company on claims. It’s no surprise then that Great Neck Nissan is undertaking this expansion to ensure that its customers feel happy and at ease in its new facility.
