Cops seek suspect who broke
elderly woman’s elbow
in Forest Hills robbery
Th e NYPD is looking for a man who
allegedly assaulted and robbed an elderly
woman in Forest Hills earlier this month.
On Saturday, Jan. 3, around 5:15 p.m.,
an 83-year-old woman
was walking on the
sidewalk in front of 112-
01 Queens Blvd., when
an unidentifi ed man got
out of a dark-colored
SUV and approached
her, according to the
NYPD.
Th e man then grabbed
the woman’s purse and
threw her to the ground,
cops said.
Th e man got back in
the car and drove off
with the purse, which
contained around $50,
an ID, credit cards and
an iPhone, according to
the authorities.
EMS personnel took
the 83-year-old to
NewYork-Presbyterian
Hospital Queens, where
she was treated for a broken
elbow.
The suspect later
attempted to use the
woman’s stolen credit
card at a deli located
at 187 East 167th St., in
Manhattan, police said.
Th e NYPD recovered
surveillance footage of the suspect from
inside the deli.
No arrests have been made and the
investigation is ongoing.

groped woman in Flushing
train station: NYPD
Th e NYPD is looking
for a man who
allegedly groped a
woman in Flushing
last month.
On Tuesday, Dec.
8, around 9:40 p.m.,
a 23-year-old woman
was standing inside
an 7 train inside
the Main Street station
when she was
approached by an
unidentified man,
according to the
NYPD.
The man then
grabbed the woman’s
buttocks and ran out
of the train when the
doors opened, cops
said. Th e man fl ed in
an unknown direction
.Th
e 23-year-old did
not report any injuries
as a result of the
incident.
The suspect is
described as being
between 20 and 30
years old.
No arrests have
been made and the investigation is
ongoing.

Seven fi refi ghters injured while battling
seven-alarm fi re in Flushing: FDNY
Firefi ghters on Saturday morning extinguished a seven
alarm fi re that started late Friday night in a Flushing
storefront and extended into an adjacent building,
according to the FDNY.
Aft er receiving a call just before midnight on Friday,
Jan. 8, regarding the blaze at a three-story building located
at 136-15 37th Ave., approximately 50 units and 200
FDNY personnel responded to the scene to fi ght the fi re.
Th e blaze was fi rst classifi ed as a two-alarm fi re at
12:11 a.m. on Jan. 9, before slowly progressing to a seven
alarm classifi cation by 5:19 a.m.
Seven fi refi ghters sustained minor injuries while battling
the inferno and have been transported to local hospitals.
While a collapse zone has been established, units were
still operating at the scene at 8 a.m. on Saturday, Jan. 9,
according to the FDNY. Th e fi re was extinguished just
before 9 a.m., according to the FDNY.
Fire marshals are investigating the cause of the blaze.
