 A pair of brutes bagged a man’s  
 backpack on High Street on March  
 17. 
 The victim told cops that, near  
 Jay Street at 11 pm, he was biking  
 toward the Manhattan Bridge when  
 the goons pushed him to the ground  
 and stole his bag, containing two  
 phones and a speaker. 
 Hoops and rings 
 Some  freebooter  raided  a  woman’s  
 jewelry collection at her Wyckoff  
 Street home between September  
 and March 12. 
 The  victim  told  police  that  her  
 gems went missing from her apartment  
 between Smith and Hoyt  
 streets, which included a diamond  
 ring, wedding ring, and several earrings  
 worth a total of $6,695. 
 What a steal! 
 A sneak thief took a woman’s  
 phone  at  a  Livingston  Street  thrift  
 store on March 10. 
 The victim told cops that, near  
 Bond Street at 11 am, she was browsing  
 the used goods outlet when she  
 felt someone bump her, and later  
 she noticed her phone was gone. 
 1-800 FRAUD 
 Police arrested a woman they  
 say defrauded another woman out  
 of  more  than  $700  by  stealing  her  
 identity at a Fulton Mall store from  
 March 6-19. 
 The victim told police that, between  
 Bond Street and Elm Place  
 from 7:05 pm on the fi rst  date  until  
 noon on the second, the suspect  
 allegedly set up an account with a  
 phone provider under the victim’s  
 name and billed the money to her. 
 Cops arrested the alleged fraudster  
 on felony grand larceny charges  
 on March 22 at the downtown store. 
 Watch out! 
 Some  marauder  stole  surveillance  
 cameras from a Furman  
 Street  building  on  the  night  of  
 March 14. 
 A  security  worker  told  police  
 that, near Brooklyn Bridge Park  
 Pier 1 and between 11 pm and 2:30  
 am  the  next  morning,  the  fi lcher  
 took equipment worth $3,000. 
 Clean sweep 
 A couple of crooks raided cleaning  
 supplies from a Warren Street  
 apartment on March 14. 
 The  victim  told  cops  that,  between  
 Third  and  Fourth  avenues  
 and  between  10:20  am-5  pm,  the  
 man  and  woman  broke  into  the  
 basement  and  stole  garbage  bags,  
 bleach,  disinfectant,  and  hand  
 sanitizer.

 Suspect questioned in deadly  
 stabbing of young man in B’wick

 FORT GREENE-CLINTON HILL 
 Double dagger 
 A villain stabbed a guy twice at  
 the Nevins Street subway station on  
 March 19. 
 The victim told cops that, on a  
 Crown Heights-bound train at 12:18  
 am, the rogue pulled out a kitchen  
 knife and stabbed him in the leg  
 and  arm,  before  fl eeing out of the  
 station.  
 Sit on that! 
 Some goon threw a chair at a guy  
 on Waverly Avenue on March 19.  
 The victim told cops that, between  
 Lafayette and Greene avenues  
 around 8:40 pm, he tried to  
 break up a fi ght among a unruly  
 group when the plastic seater came  
 fl ying at his face. 
 The crowd scattered and cops  
 could not fi nd any perpetrator, according  
 to police reports.

 CARROLL GARDENS-COBBLE HILL–RED  
 HOOK 
 Going to the mat! 
 A woman got into a violent tussle  
 with a shopper at a Beard Street furniture  
 store on March 2. 
 The 55-year-old victim told police  
 that she was waiting in line to return  
 some furniture at the store by Otsego  
 Street at 12:48 pm when she and the  
 stranger punched her in the back of  
 the neck. The victim refused medical  
 attention, and the attacker got away,  
 police said. 
 Grand theft auto 
 Some sleezeball stole $17,500 worth  
 of car parts from a car dealership on  
 Van Brunt Street on March 3. 
 An  employee  told  cops  that  the  
 looter removed the catalytic converters  
 from seven Isuzu trucks that were  
 parked between Union and President  
 streets sometime between 10 and 11  
 pm and ran off. 
 Sounds like a tool 
 A bandit nabbed $300 worth of  
 tools from a Columbia street housing  
 complex sometime between  
 March 1 and March 2. 
 The  victim  told  police  that  the  
 burglar snuck into the building’s  
 basement and stole a box containing  
 a ruler, a screwdriver set, pliers,  
 and a wrench among other items  
 from  the  building  on  the  corner  of  
 Lorraine Street. 
 Plate pirate 
 A scoffl aw stole two license plates  
 from a car parked on Centre Street  
 on March 10. 
 The car’s owner said that a thief  
 removed the two New York license  
 plates from the car parked by Hamilton  
 Avenue at 9:30 am before making  
 a run for it. 
 62ND PRECINCT  
 BENSONHURST—BAATH BEACH 
 What the truck! 
 Looters stole $14,000 worth of car  
 equipment from trucks at a 16th Avenue  
 auto repair shop on March 16. 
 An employee told police that the  
 lowlifes stole equipment and tools  
 from four tow trucks parked at the  
 shop by 63rd Street before driving  
 off. 
 Balding bandit 
 A freeloader stole Rogaine and  
 other items from an 18th Avenue department  
 store on March 15. 
 An employee told police that the  
 burglar snatched the hair loss medication, 
  a backpack, electronics, and  
 other items totaling $1,695 from the  
 store on the corner of 64th Street,

 Detectives  are  questioning  
 a  suspect in the murder  
 of  a  24-year-old  man  who  was  
 stabbed to death just steps away  
 from the front door of his Brooklyn  
 home on Monday afternoon. 
 Jose Perez Rivera was knifed  
 multiple  times  in  the chest and  
 arm right outside his residence  
 at the corner of Hart Street and  
 Knickerbocker Avenue in Bushwick  
 at about 3 pm on March 22,  
 according to authorities. 
 At  this  point  in  the  ongoing  
 investigation,  police  have  not  
 determined  the  circumstances  
 that led up to the stabbing. 
 Officers  from  the  83rd  Precinct  
 discovered  the  wounded  
 victim  while  responding  to  a  
 911 call regarding the incident.  
 EMS  units  rushed  Rivera  to  
 Elmhurst  Hospital,  where  he  
 was  pronounced  dead  a  short  
 time later. 
 During  the  preliminary  investigation  
 at  the  scene,  police  
 took  the  suspect,  a  21-year-old  
 man, into custody. Law enforcement  
 sources  did  not  disclose  
 his  possible  connection  to  Rivera. 
   The  suspect  was  brought  
 to  the  83rd  Precinct  stationhouse  
 for further questioning. 
 Charges  against  him  are  
 pending the results of the ongoing  
 investigation, police said.
