identity to fuel a $463 spending
spree beginning June 24.
Credit One Bank billed the E.
43rd Street resident bank statements
on a credit card that he never
applied for, with charges including
airline tickets, gas purchases, and
meals from a Kings County McDonalds.
Identity crisis
An identity thief swindled a Mill
Basin woman out of $10,784 beginning
May 13.
The thief likely used “E-check”
services and the E. 58th Street resident’s
bank account number to
make purchases, cops said.

Batter up
Some lowlifes hit a man with a
bat on Mermaid Avenue on July 21.
The victim told police the punks
attacked him near W. 16th Street at
6 p.m., cops said.
The man suffered minor injuries,
and declined a trip to the hospital,
police said.
Jacked
A thief nabbed a car from a 66-
year-old car service driver on Stillwell
Avenue on July 25.
The victim told police he picked
up the carjacker near Mermaid Avenues
6 p.m., but the thief refused
to pay his fare, instead choosing to
punch the elderly man in the face,
before fl eeing in his car.
Tough love
Cops cuffed a man for alledgedly
taking $2,000 from his girlfriend’s
purse inside a W. 11th Street apartment
on July 20.
The victim told police her beau
nabbed the cash while she was showering
in her apartment between avenues
W and X at 11:45 p.m.
The victim realized her cash
was gone after the boyfriend left the
apartment, cops said.
Wheel crime
A thief stripped wheels and rims
worth more than $1,000 from a
parked car on Seabreeze Avenue on
July 22.
The victim told police he parked
his car between W. First and W. Second
streets at 8 pm, and returned
the next day to fi nd he was short a
few wheels.

Teen terror
A thief beat and robbed a teenage
boy on Moore Place on July 28.
The victim, 16, told police the
crook approached him and his sister
near E. 16th Street at 1:05 a.m.,
demanding the kid’s valuables, before
punching him in the face, and
then fl eeing empty handed on a Citi
Bike.
Bike bandit
A burglar made off with a bicycle
stashed in the rear yard of an E.
12th Street home on July 18.
The thief made his way into the
back area of the house near Avenue
S at shortly after midnight, before
nabbing the bike and pedaling
away, cops said.
Working man
A man was arrested for allegedly
breaking into a construction vehicle
parked on Avenue X on July 22.
A witness spotted the suspect
smashing a window of the work vehicle
near W. First Street at 11:20
p.m., according to police.
Patrolmen arrived in time to see
the suspect crawling back out of the
vehicle through the shattered glass,
and offi cers claim the man tried to
toss a pair of pliers as he was apprehended,
cops said.
Basement blues
Thieves invaded a Coney Island
Avenue basement apartment on
July 26, nabbing more than $3,300
worth of valuables.
The victims told police they were
sleeping when the crooks snuck into
their home near Avenue S through
an unlocked door at sometime after
3:30 a.m., before quietly looting the
place and fl eeing.

Doggone crook!
Some bonehead attacked a man
while fl eeing an 86th street store
with stolen dog food on July 24.
The victim told police the malefactor
tried to run off from the

Stilwell Avenue shop with a bag of
stolen dog chow just after 2 p.m.,
and the punk hurled an employee to
the ground on his way out, according
to police.
Another employee tried to stop
the thief by standing in front of the
crook’s car, but the rake got out,
pushed him to the ground, and fl ung
the bag of dog food out the window
while speeding off.
Goon squad
Two brutes punched a guy on
65th Street on July 25.
The victim told police he was
walking towards New Utrecht Avenue
when the dastardly duo surrounded
him and demanded his
wallet at 11 p.m.
The victim refused and one of
the bruisers punched him in the
arms and ran towards 15th Avenue,
according to police.
Cut it close
Some fi end attacked a guy on
86th Street on July 25.
The victim told cops he was arguing
with the nogoodnik following
a dispute about money when the
ruffi an sucker-punched him and cut
his shirt with a knife, near 20th Avenue
at 4:35 a.m.
Sit on that!
Police arrested a man they suspect
of attacking a teen with a chair
inside a 17th Avenue deli on July 27.
The 17-year-old victim told cops
that his brother whacked him with
the piece of furniture and punched
him all over his body, at Bay Ridge
Avenue at 11:15 p.m.
Driven to crime
A thief stole a guy’s car on 81st
Street on July 25.
The victim told police he left his
car unlocked and the engine running
near 19th Avenue just before
10:30 p.m., and when he came back
the bandit had sped off with his gas
guzzler.

Punch drunk
Two brigands mugged an drunk
man on Fifth Avenue on July 29.
The victim told police that he was
walking home from a bar between
26th and 27th streets when the two
pillagers approached and began
punching him repeatedly shortly
after midnight. Once the victim fell
to the fl oor, the robbers stole his cell
phone and his shoes, cops said.
Sunset slasher
A blade-wielding bozo stabbed a
man on Fourth Avenue on July 29.
The victim told police that he
was walking between 56th and 57th
streets at around 10:20 a.m., when
the savage approached and cut him
in the lower back with an unknown
object, cops said.
The victim sustained minor injuries
and refused medical treatment
from fi rst responders, according to
police.
Locked up
Police arrested a suspect who allegedly
broke the front door lock to
his own Fourth Avenue apartment
on July 17.
The suspect’s landlord claims
the renter covered the inside of the
lock in crazy glue at around 11 a.m.,
causing $500 in damage to the door
of the apartment between 55th and
56th streets, police said.
Police arrested the 51-year-old
suspect on July 25 on criminal mischief
charges, according to authorities.
Cycle of crime
A thief stole a man’s bike on
Eighth Avenue on July 28.
The victim told police he left
the unlocked bike for fi ve minutes
between 43rd and 44th streets at
around 11:30 p.m., before the thief
hopped on and rode off toward 42nd
Street, cops said.
Bank bandit
A forger scammed a 16th Street
woman out of $5,000 on July 22.
The victim, who resides between
Seventh and Eighth avenues, told
police that the swindler produced a
fraudulent check using the victim’s
banking information, and cashed
the check at around 9 a.m., cops
said.
Disgruntled employee
Police arrested a man suspected
of ransacking a 16th Street business
on July 23.
The owner told police that the
suspect, a former employee, broke
into the store between Third and
Fourth avenues at around noon, before
nabbing $6,000 worth of innovatory.
Police obtained surveillance
video allegedly showing the suspect
loading the ill-gotten good into a
van during the burglary, cops said.
Police caught up with the suspect
on July 26 and arrested him on
felony grand larceny charges, cops
