 Newly elected Judge Rosemarie  
 Montalbano  was  installed  into  the  
 Brooklyn Supreme Court at a robing  
 ceremony last week.  
 The former criminal and civil  
 court judge was elected to the higher  
 court in the November 2019 general  
 election.  
 Members of the Brooklyn legal  
 community  packed  into  Borough  
 Hall  last Thursday  for Montalbano’s  
 robing ceremony.  
 Montalbano  is  a  graduate  of  St.  
 John’s University and Western New  
 England Law School. She previously  
 worked as a law clerk and former assistant  
 district attorney, before being  
 elected to the criminal court in 2014.  
 Montalbano recently hosted a program  
 with  the  Columbian  Lawyers  
 that  highlighted  the  impact  domestic  
 violence can have on families, and  
 how those effects play out in the court  
 system.
