“World’s Fair Visible Storage”
Ongoing exhibit
Before it was known as the Queens Museum, it was the New
York City Building, which was used as the City’s pavilion
for the 1939-40 and 1964-65 World’s Fairs. In this exhibit,
visitors can peruse the over 10,000 objects and artifacts
from those exhibitions, but only about 900 of the objects are
included in “The World’s Fair Visible Storage” collection. The
exhibit provides a one-of-a-kind experience where museum
goers can view items that were formerly off-limits to the
public.
