Police are investigating the
death of a woman who was found
with head trauma in her Little Neck
home.
Officers responded to a 911 call at
1:54 p.m. on Dec. 4 regarding an unconscious
woman in the basement
apartment of a home on Marathon
Parkway near Beechknoll Avenue.
Upon their arrival, officers found
55-year-old Virginia Pomponio in
the bedroom lying on her side with
trauma to her head.
EMS rushed to the location and
declared Pomponio dead at the
scene. At this time, the NYPD does
not suspect foul play and confirmed
that the victim suffered from a preexisting

medical condition. The
Medical Examiner will determine
the cause of death.
The investigation is ongoing.
NYPD rules the deaths of squatters found in
burning abandoned home a triple homicide

The deaths of
three squatters who
died in a burning
St. Albans home one
week before Thanksgiving
have been officially
ruled a triple
homicide, according
to the NYPD.
Authorities say
that at 11:53 p.m. on
Nov. 21, police and
the FDNY responded
to a 911 call regarding
a house fire at a
113th Precinct
St. Albans
home in the vicinity of 110th Road and
Farmers Boulevard. After the FDNY
got the fire under control at 1:35 a.m.,
three men were found inside the home,
unconscious and unresponsive.
EMS declared the victims dead at
the scene. Their identities are being
withheld pending proper family notifications.
On Dec. 7, the NYPD announced
that the deaths of the men were officially
ruled a triple homicide. No arrests
have been made at this time and
the investigation is ongoing.

Cops are looking for a suspect who
punched a man and fled down a Jackson
Heights street.
According to police, at 2:22 p.m.
on Dec. 6, a 65-year-old man walking
in the vicinity of Elmhurst Avenue
and Roosevelt Avenue when he was
punched in the right side of his face by
an unknown man. The suspect then
fled the scene on foot northbound down
Elmhurst Avenue.
EMS took the victim to NewYork-
Presbyterian Queens Hospital where he
was treated for his injuries.
On Dec. 6, the NYPD released video
of the suspect, who is described as a
man wearing a blue bubble jacket, black
pants and grey sneakers.

Crook breaks into senior man’s Astoria home

Cops are looking for a thief who
broke into a senior man’s Astoria
home and took off with thousands of
dollars in cash.
Authorities say that at 3:45 a.m. on
Nov. 8, a 75-year-old man was at his
home, located on 33rd Street near 31st
Avenue, when he checked a storage
area inside his bedroom and found that
personal property had been taken.
An investigation found that an unknown
man had broken into the victim’s
home. Once inside, the suspect
took $9,000 from the victim’s bedroom
before fleeing the scene.

taken from the apartment:
