Off-duty cop arrested following domestic dispite

An off-duty NYPD
employee was arrested
in his Queens home after
an alleged domestic
incident early Friday
morning.
Officers from the
113th Precinct arrested
53-year-old Hardy
Williams, who works
as a NYPD Police Communications
Technician,
at 1:33 a.m. on
Nov. 22.
Police say that prior
to his arrest, Williams
was involved in
a physical dispute with
his wife that also led to
property being damaged

Southeast Queens
in the home. A spokesperson for
the NYPD could not confirm if his wife
was injured during the dispute, but did
confirm that neither Williams or his
wife went to a hospital for treatment.
Williams faces charges of assault,
criminal mischief and harassment.
The investigation is ongoing.

Man tries to steal infant from mom in Corona

Detectives are looking for the man
who allegedly tried to steal a mother’s
child on a Corona street earlier this
week.
Law enforcement sources said the
bizarre incident occurred at 8:35 p.m. on
Nov. 21 in the area of 43rd Avenue and
111th Street in Corona.
According to police, the suspect
approached a 29-year-old mom as she
pushed a stroller carrying her 10-monthold
child along the street. Cops said he
then put his hand on the stroller and demanded
that she give him her child.
When the woman refused and resisted
his efforts, police noted, the suspect
ran away from the scene. The incident
was reported to the 110th Precinct.
On Nov. 23, the NYPD released video
footage of the perpetrator taken inside
a bar on Roosevelt Avenue shortly after
the incident occurred.
Police described the attempted babynapper
as a Hispanic man in his 20s,
standing 5 feet, 5 inches tall, with a thin
build, black hair and brown eyes. He
was last seen wearing a green hooded
sweatshirt, dark colored pants and red
sneakers.

Fresh Meadows
Cops rule two-year-old’s death a homicide

The death of a 2-year-old who was having
trouble breathing in Fresh Meadows
earlier this spring has officially been
ruled a homicide, the NYPD announced
Friday.
According to police, at 12:30 a.m. on
April 6, officers responded to a 911 call of
an aided child inside a basement apartment
on 163rd Street near Horace Harding
Expressway. Upon their arrival, the
officers found 2-year-old Jason Alvarado,
who was having difficulty breathing.
Alvarado was rushed to Cohen Children’s
Medical Center, where he ultimately
died on April 12.
On May 7, the NYPD arrested Alvarado’s
babysitter, 24-year-old Lorena Iraheta,
who was watching him at her home
the day before. She was charged with
manslaughter, criminally negligent homicide,
reckless assault and acting in a
manor injurious to a child.
Following an ongoing investigation,
the medical examiner ruled the
Alvarado’s death was a homicide. The
investigation remains ongoing.

Flushing
Brute chokes, punches woman in Flushing

Police are searching for the man
who assaulted a woman and stole her
phone in Flushing last month.
A 20-year-old woman was involved
in a verbal dispute with a man in front
of 34-50 Linden Place at 10:30 on Oct.
30, according to authorities. The dispute
turned physical when the man
punched and choked the woman before
snatching her cell phone and fleeing
on an MTA bus.
Police said the woman sustained
bruises to her head and face, but refused
medical attention.
