Suspect behind Corona slashing still at large

Corona
The NYPD is investigating an
early morning slashing that left a
man injured in Corona on Monday.
Police say that at around 5 a.m.
on Oct. 14, officers from the 110th
Precinct responded to a call at a deli
located at 41-01 103rd St. Upon their
arrival, officers found that a man
had been stabbed or slashed in the
arm at the location following a dispute
with an unknown man.
The suspect, who is described as a
Hispanic man wearing a black hoodie,
fled the scene to parts unknown. EMS
took the victim to an area hospital in
stable condition.
At this time, it is not immediately
clear what caused the dispute
between the two men.
A report from the Citizen app indicated
that the victim may have been
slashed with a machete, however the
NYPD could not confirm this detail.
No arrests have been made at
this time and the investigation is
ongoing.

‘Badly decomposed’ body found in Little Neck

Cops are asking for help in identifying
two teenagers who were caught
on video allegedly setting a fire near a
church in Corona.
On Sept. 10 just before 1 a.m., the
teens — believed to be between 13 and
15 years old — used an unknown tool to
break into a shed located behind Our
Lady of Sorrows Roman Catholic
Church — located at 104-11 37th Ave.
— and removed two gas canisters from
inside, according to authorities.
Police said the teens then used gasoline
from inside the canisters to light a
piece of cloth on fire before fleeing the
scene with the gas cans. No damage
was reported relating to the fire.
Authorities released video of the
incident on Oct. 3 that shows the teens
setting the fire.

Glen Oaks
Police find teen shot to death in Glen Oaks

A 19-year-old man was shot to
death in Glen Oaks last week, according
to authorities.
Police responded to a 911 call
of an unconscious male in front of
82-53 268th St. at approximately 1
p.m. on Oct. 9.
Upon arriving at the scene, officers
from the 105th Precinct discovered
Jay Patel, of 267th Street in
Glen Oaks, had sustained a gunshot
wound to the abdomen.
EMS arrived at the scene and
transported Patel to North Shore
University Hospital, where he was
pronounced dead.
There have been no arrests and
the investigation is ongoing.

Astoria
Creep grabs woman’s rear end in Astoria: Cops

Police are hunting
for the man who
allegedly grabbed a
woman’s rear end in
Astoria last month.
The creep allegedly
approached the
21-year-old woman
near 31st Avenue and
43rd Street within the
confines of the 114th
Precinct from behind
and grabbed her butt,
according to the authorities.
The perp then fled the scene in an
unknown direction, cops said.
Police added that the victim was not
injured during the encounter.
Cops released video of the suspect,
who can be seen wearing a blue shirt,
glasses, dark pants, and a hat.
