Trio wanted for robbing man

Detectives are looking
for three crooks who
assaulted and robbed a
40-year-old man at an A
train station in Ozone Park
last week.
Law enforcement sources
said the robbery occurred
at 7:20 p.m. on Sept.
13 inside the 80th Street station,
located above the corner
of Liberty Avenue and
80th Street.
According to authorities,
the terrible trio —
Ozone Park
two men and a woman — approached
the victim and began punching and
kicking him about the body. The suspects
then removed from the man
$200 in cash and a cellphone from his
back pocket, then fled the scene in an
unknown direction.
Officers from the 106th Precinct
and NYPD Transit Bureau responded
to the scene. Paramedics took the victim
to Jamaica Hospital for treatment
of facial cuts.
The NYPD released on Sept. 15 video
footage of the three crooks.

Traffic stop leads to drug bust

A routine traffic stop turned into
a marijuana and gun bust in Queens
Village last week.
According to police, at 2:18 a.m.
on Sept. 13, officers from the 105th
Precinct pulled over a 2003 Toyota
at the corner of Springfield Boulevard
and Murdock Avenue for a

Morisset, 41, behind the wheel and
Thomas Heywood, 18, in the passenger
seat, and the pair were allegedly in
possession of a large quantity of marijuana,
and an imitation 9mm pistol.
Police also determined that Morisset
did not have a driver’s license.
Both men were taken into custody
shortly afterward and were charged
with fourth-degree criminal possession
of marijuana and fourth-degree criminal
possession of a weapon. Morisset
was also charged with third-degree
criminal possession of a weapon, aggravated
unlicensed driver, driving
without a license and unsafe backing
of a vehicle.
The 105th Precinct released photos
of the bust on Twitter later that day,
praising the precinct’s Midnight Anti-
Crime Team.

Three sought for shooting

Cops are looking for three men
who were involved in a shooting that
left a man injured in Woodside early
Tuesday morning.
Authorities say that at around
12:45 a.m. on Sept. 17, a 24-year-old
man was in the vicinity of 59th Street
and Woodside Avenue when he got
into a dispute with three unknown
men. The dispute escalated when one
of the suspects pulled out a gun and
shot the man in the abdomen and the
right hand.
As of Tuesday afternoon, the motive
for the shooting was not known.
The suspects then fled the scene in a
green taxi.
EMS took the victim to Elmhurst
Hospital in stable condition.
As of press time, police could
not provide a description of the suspects.
No arrests have been made
at this time and the investigation
is ongoing.
111th Precinct
Bayside
Another package thief picked up

Officers from the 111th Precinct
stopped another package thief
from swiping boxes off of doorsteps
in Bayside.
According to police, at 1:27 p.m.
on Sept. 11, officers responded to a
911 call regarding a suspicious person
in the vicinity of 209th Street and
35th Avenue. Upon their arrival, the
44-year-old woman who made the call
told police that Nayid Melo, 28, had
been allegedly removing packages
from nearby porches.
The victim allegedly confronted
Melo, who put down the packages.
Police took him into police custody
shortly afterwards.
Melo was charged with petit larceny,
criminal possession of stolen property,
criminal possession of a controlled
substance and criminal trespassing.
This arrest is the latest in the ongoing
package theft pattern. In April, the
111th Precinct arrested two men who
were connected to a series of grand larcenies,
stealing multiple packages in
the northeast Queens area.
