J.M. Marino Lodge, Order Sons
& Daughters of Italy in America
By Debbie Greco Cohen
A Great End of Summer Tradition For 40 Years!
Summer isn’t over until you’ve enjoyed the
food, rides and games at the Italian Festival
at North Hempstead Beach Park in Port
Washington. Celebrating its 40th year, the
Festival will be held from Thursday, September
5 - Sunday, September 8.
Festival organizers are pleased to offer
one-price rides wristbands every day with
exciting rides by Blue Sky Amusements. The
food court offers a wide variety of traditional
carnival fare and delicious ethnic cuisine. Be
sure to also visit the Sons and Daughters of
Italy in America John Michael Marino Lodge’s
Italian pastry & coffee, wine & beer, and
pasta fagioli tents.
“It is so wonderful that the John Michael
Marino Lodge Order Sons & Daughters of
Italy in America is celebrating its 40th year of
presenting this amazing Italian Festival,”
Festival Chair Daryl Zimbardi said. “Between
the rides, games, incredible selection of
delicious food and entertainment along the
shores of beautiful Hempstead Harbor, we
think it’s the best Italian Festival on Long
Island!"
The Festival is open Thursday and Friday
from 6-11 p.m., Saturday from 2-11 p.m., and
Sunday from 12:30 p.m. – 9pm. Ride wristbands
are $10 on Thursday, $30 on Friday and
Saturday, and $25 on Sunday. A beloved
tradition, rides are free on Sunday from 12:30
- 1:30 p.m. This year, Annabelle the Clown will
entertain children from 1:30 – 3:30 p.m. The
fabulous Casino Tent, live entertainment and
dozens of vendors with jewelry, crafts and
gifts will be featured every night. There will
also be a spectacular firework display on
Saturday night.
The Festival and parking at North
Hempstead Beach Park is at the
entrance past 175 West Shore Road
(GPS directions) in Port Washington.
