Thieves slash and rob man in car

Cops are looking for
two thieves who stole
property from a man
and sliced his face along
an Ozone Park street
last week.

sources said the trouble
began at about 7:10
a.m. on Aug. 14, as a
30-year-old man sat in
a vehicle parked along
83rd Street between
133rd Avenue and
Spritz Road, adjacent to
Tudor Park.
At that time, authorities noted, the
two suspects approached the vehicle.
One of the men opened the passenger
side door and removed a cellphone,
while his cohort opened the driver’s
side door and slashed the victim
in the face.
The suspects then fled the scene in an
unknown direction, cops said.
Officers from the 106th Precinct
responded to the incident. The victim
was treated at Jamaica Hospital for a
laceration to his face.
On Aug. 18, the NYPD released
video footage of the two perpetrators,
captured by a nearby home
security camera.

Detectives are investigating two
other, unrelated robberies that occurred
in Ozone Park within the last 10 days.
On Aug. 10, two male suspects
ambushed a woman as she opened the
front door to her residence in the area of
Sutter Avenue and 77th Street in a failed
home invasion.
Four days later, on Aug. 14, two other
crooks forced their way into a home in
the area of 95th Avenue and 77th Street
and robbed a woman at gunpoint.
Both of those cases also remain under
investigation.

Astoria
Man seriously injured in stabbing

Cops are looking for at least two
suspects who seriously injured a
man during a stabbing in the Dutch
Kills section of Long Island City on
Sunday afternoon.
According to authorities, at around
3 p.m. on Aug. 18, officers from the
114th Precinct responded to a 911 call
regarding a man stabbed in the vicinity
of 37th Avenue and Crescent Street.
Upon their arrival, police noted,
cops found a 51-year-old man who
was stabbed in the torso. Paramedics
rushed him to NewYork-Presbyterian/
Weill Cornell Medical Center in serious
condition.
Sources familiar with the
investigation told QNS that the victim
had been involved in a verbal dispute
with the suspects, who were outside of
his home on Crescent Street prior to
the attack. The exact number of people
involved was not yet clear, but sources
said there were at least two involved.
The beef turned bloody, authorities
said, when one of the perpetrators
stabbed the man with an unknown
object. The suspects then fled the scene
to parts unknown.
No further description of the
suspects was immediately available,
police sources said. No arrests have
been made.
The investigation is ongoing.

St. Albans
Cops find imitation AR-15 during raid

Two St. Albans residents wound up
in handcuffs Friday after police raided
their home and found an imitation AR-15
assault rifle along with ammo and drugs,
police reported.
Acting on information received
during an investigation in Brooklyn’s
67th Precinct, the NYPD executed a
court-authorized search of a residence
on Sayers Avenue near 178th Street at 3
p.m. on Aug. 16.
During the search, members of the
NYPD Ceasefire and Field Intelligence
Teams found what they described as
an imitation AR-15 assault rifle loaded
with a magazine. The realistic-looking
imitation is modeled after the weapon
of choice for many mass shooters
in America.
Officers also recovered five highcapacity
rifle magazines along with
quantities of heroin and marijuana, law
enforcement sources said.
According to a post to the NYPD’s
official Facebook page on Aug. 16, two
handguns were also seized during
the raid.
Police said two residents present for
the raid were taken into custody: Halinah
Neris, 30, and Christopher Seals, 28. They
were charged with criminal possession
of a weapon, criminal possession of
a controlled substance and unlawful
possession of marijuana.

Auburndale
Would-be burglar caught in the act

Police are on the lookout for a
would-be burglar who tried breaking
into a home in the Auburndale area of
Flushing earlier this month.
On Aug. 7 just before noon,
law enforcement sources said, an
unidentified man used a chair to climb
into the bathroom window of a house
in the vicinity of 46th Avenue and
192nd Street.
Cops from the 111th Precinct
reported that the 58-year-old male
homeowner heard a sound and saw the
suspect in his bathroom.
When the suspect saw the
homeowner, authorities noted, he fled
on foot in an unknown direction. The
man fled without any property and the
victim did not incur any injuries from
the incident.
Police describe the suspect as an
adult man who was last seen wearing
a blue shirt and white hat.
Surveillance video shows the
suspect on the homeowner’s property
the day of the incident.
