Armed pair robs man at home

Police need the public’s help in
finding two armed robbers who paid
a visit to a Flushing home earlier
this week and stole cash from a
male victim.
On Aug. 8, the NYPD released video
of the perpetrators responsible for the
holdup that occurred at 6:23 p.m. on
Aug. 5 at a residence in the vicinity
of 157th Street and 26th Avenue, a few
blocks north of Bowne Park.
According to law enforcement
sources, the two culprits made their
way inside the home and confronted
a 33-year-old man. They displayed
firearms and demanded cash.
Moments later, police noted, the
thieves fled the scene with $200
in currency.
The incident was reported to
the 109th Precinct; there were no
injuries.
The circumstances surrounding
the robbery remain under
investigation. Police sources said there
was no indication that the victim knew
the perpetrators.
As shown in the video footage, one
of the suspects wore a dark-colored
baseball cap, a patterned t-shirt, blue
jeans and blue shoes.
His cohort wore a dark-colored
baseball cap, a blue-and-white
camouflage t-shirt, black-and-yellow
pants and black sneakers.

Astoria
Gunman shot in-law after dispute

The NYPD is looking for a man
who shot his brother-in-law in the
leg after an argument in Astoria on
Saturday night.
At 10:02 p.m. on Aug. 10, police reported,
officers from the 114th Precinct responded
to a 911 call regarding shots fired at
27-5 1st St., the Astoria Houses public
housing complex.
Upon arrival, officers found that a 40-
year-old man had been shot in the leg at
the location.
Sources familiar with the
investigation said that the victim was
shot by his brother-in-law following an
argument that they had earlier that
day. It is not immediately clear what the
argument was about.
EMS responded to the scene and took
the victim to Cornell University Hospital
in stable condition.
While police could not confirm the
suspect’s identity, he is described as a
black man with cornrows. He was last
seen wearing a white zip-up sweatshirt,
a white tank top and blue jeans.
No arrests have been made at this
time. The investigation is ongoing.x

South Ozone Park
Bike-riding burglar wanted

Cops are looking for a bike-riding
burglar who broke into a South Ozone
Park home and took off with cash and
personal items.
According to police, at 10 p.m. on
Aug. 7, an unknown man entered a
residence of a 50-year-old woman in
the vicinity of Sutter Avenue and 118th
Street through the back door. While
there were no signs of forced entry,
according to the NYPD, it is unknown
if the door was locked or not.
Once inside, the suspect took the
victim’s purse, which contained a
watch, $1,300, passport, $400 gift card,
credit cards and a cellphone, before
fleeing the scene. The incident was
later reported to the 106th Precinct,
who released photos of the suspect on
Twitter on Aug. 11.

Crook pulls purse from woman in store

A crook

out of a 68-yearold
woman’s
arms in a
Forest Hills
99-cent store
on Saturday

during a
robbery caught
on camera,
police reported.
The NYPD
released footage of the incident which
occurred at 9:40 a.m. on Aug. 10 inside
the Food 99 Cent Discount shop at 118-27
Queens Blvd.
Law enforcement sources said the
victim was shopping in one of the aisles
when the perpetrator, who had walked
in seconds earlier, approached her.
The footage shows the man grabbing
the woman’s purse out of her arms
during a brief struggle, then walking
away.
Cops said the suspect fled the store
with the handbag, which contained a
debit card and $150 in cash.
Officers from the 112th Precinct
responded to the scene. The woman
was not injured.
As of press time, the perpetrator
remains at large. Cops described
the purse thief as a black man who
wore a white baseball cap, blue jeans,
white-and-black sneakers and a blue
long-sleeved shirt while carrying a
black backpack.
