Crook nabs $100K in loot from Flushing home

Flushing
Police are looking for a person of
interest who may know something
about a recent burglary at a Flushing
home that cost one family a fortune.
According to police, between
9:30 a.m. and 5:40 p.m. on July 16,
an unknown man gained access
to an unoccupied residence in the
Auburndale section of Flushing,
located in the vicinity of 196th
Street and 47th Avenue, through an
unlocked window.
Once inside, law enforcement
sources said the crook swiped
$40,000 in cash and $50,000 worth of
assorted jewelry. The burglary was
reported to the 111th Precinct.
Cops described the person of
interest as a man who was last seen
wearing black pants, a white shirt,
a black hat and black sneakers and
carrying a backpack.

video footage of the person of

Corona
Suspect sought in attempted Corona rape

Detectives need the public’s help in
finding a man who allegedly tried to
rape a 74-year-old woman inside her
Corona apartment last week.
Law enforcement sources said the
violent episode started with a knock
on the woman’s door at 1:20 a.m. on
July 17 inside an apartment building
in the vicinity of 108th Street and 38th
Avenue.
When the woman answered the
door, police said, she was met by the
unidentified male suspect who pushed
his way inside. Authorities stated that
he knocked the victim to the ground,
then struck her in the head with a
bottle.
Police sources said the perpetrator
dragged the woman into her bedroom
and attempted to rape her, but
ultimately fled the scene moments
later.
Officers from the 115th Precinct
responded to the scene. The victim
was rushed to a local hospital in stable
condition.
On the evening of July 17, the NYPD
released video footage of the would-be
rapist, who’s described as a Hispanic
male standing about 5 feet, 5 inches tall
and weighing 170 pounds, with low-cut
black hair. He was last seen wearing a

South Ozone Park
Cops seek fiend in failed shooting attempt

Police are looking for a man who was
caught on camera ultimately failing to
gun down a woman at her home in South
Ozone Park on Friday evening.
Authorities say that at 6:40 p.m. on
July 19, an unknown man with a black
shirt covering his face approached a 45-
year-old woman in front of her home,
located in the vicinity of 109th Street and
109th Avenue. When the suspect held up
a gun and tried to fire it at the woman,
the gun did not fire.
After trying and failing to get the gun
to fire a second time, the suspect fled the
scene on foot southbound on 109th Street
and then westbound on 109th Avenue.
Police released video of the incident,
available on QNS.com, that shows the
suspect trying to shoot the victim and
fleeing the scene when he was ultimately
unsuccessful.
The suspect is described as a black
man who was last seen wearing a white
shirt, blue jean shorts, black socks, black
“Nike” slides, and he had a black shirt
wrapped around his head.

Police hunt two in LIC cellphone snatching

Cops are looking for two men who
may know something about a cellphone
snatching at a Long Island City train
station.
According to police, at 11:55 a.m.
on July 2, a 21-year-old woman was
standing on the platform at the Court
Square—23rd Street station when an
unknown man approached her and
swiped her cellphone. The suspect, along
with another unknown man, then fled
the station.
Police released video of the suspects
fleeing the station.

to the identity of the males is asked to
