Thieving duo swipes packages from
lobby of SoHo apartment building

Cops are looking for a duo who burglarized
a Manhattan apartment
building and took off with other
people’s mail.
According to police, at 9:30 p.m. on Nov.
9 a pair of unknown individuals entered a
building located in the vicinity of Charlton
Street and 6th Avenue through a secured
front door without permission to enter.
Once inside, the duo swiped packages
containing various items from the lobby
area. The suspects then fled the scene on
foot in an unknown direction.
The NYPD released photos and video of
the suspects taken from the crime scene.

Tough guy sought for delivering punch to
65-year-old MTA worker at Chelsea station

Cops need the public’s help in finding
the assailant who punched a
65-year-old MTA worker during a
dispute at the 23rd Street station on the
C/E lines in Chelsea earlier this month.
Police released on Friday video footage
of the perpetrator sought for the Nov. 17
attack, which took place at 3:30 p.m. on
the uptown platform of the subway station
below 8th Avenue.
Law enforcement sources said the
suspect got into an argument with the
65-year-old male employee.
The words then turned physical, authorities
said, when the perpetrator slugged the
man in the face with his fist, then fled out
of the station on foot northbound along 8th
Avenue.
Officers from the NYPD Transit Bureau
and EMS units responded to the scene.
Paramedics brought the victim to Lenox
Health Greenwich Village in stable condition
for injuries to his left eye and face.
The NYPD described the suspect as an
adult man with a dark complexion believed
to be between 25 and 30 years of age,
standing between 5 feet, 8 inches and 5
feet, 9 inches tall and weighing about 160
pounds. He was last seen wearing a dark

blue sweatshirt, light colored pants and
multicolored sneakers.

Suspect sought for fatally stabbing
man at Midtown intersection

Detectives are investigating a deadly
stabbing in Midtown Manhattan
on Saturday night.
Law enforcement sources said the murder
happened at about 9:15 p.m. on Nov.
21 at the corner of West 38th Street and
8th Avenue.
Officers from Midtown South Precinct
and EMS units responded to a 911 call
of a person stabbed at the intersection.
Upon arriving at the scene, they found
the unidentified victim, unconscious and
unresponsive, with multiple stab wounds
to his torso.
Paramedics rushed the victim to Bellevue
Hospital, where he was pronounced

dead about 35 minutes after the 911 call
came in. Police have withheld the victim’s
identity, pending family notification.
At this time, no arrests have been made.
The investigation is ongoing.
Electrical mishap sparked fire in Manhattan
high-rise that killed two women: Marshals

Fire marshals said an electrical
accident sparked a deadly fire in
Upper Manhattan early on Sunday
morning that killed two women in their
apartment.
Law enforcement sources said the fire
started at about 12:19 a.m. on Nov. 22
on the 24th floor of 260 Audubon Ave.,
above the Trans Manhattan Expressway,
in Washington Heights.
Upon extinguishing the blaze, firefighters
fund the two victims inside the apartment
— ages 37 and 73 — both of whom
had suffered smoke inhalation, police
reported.
Paramedics rushed the 37-year-old
woman to Columbia Presbyterian Hospital,
where she was pronounced dead. The
73-year-old victim also died of her injuries
at Harlem Hospital. No other injuries were
reported, police said.
Their bodies were brought to the
Medical Examiner’s office for an autopsy
to determine the cause of death.
Along with declaring the fire to be
electrical in nature, the Fire Department
reported that the residence had a smoke
alarm, but it was not operational.
