‘Reckless’ bicyclist
in Riverside Park
punched two people

Cops are looking for
a bike-riding suspect
who punched
two people following a
verbal argument at Riverside
Park on Sunday night.
Law enforcement
sources said the assaults
took place at about 9:35
p.m. on June 21 inside the
park, off the intersection
of Riverside Drive and
West 84th Street.
Sources familiar with
the investigation said
that a 71-year-old woman
observed the suspect
riding recklessly on the
promenade and got into an
argument with him about
it. A 40-year-old man then
also became involved in
the dispute.
The words turned
physical, police said, when
the suspect dismounted
his bike, walked over to
the man and punched him
in the face.
Seconds later, cops
reported, the assailant approached
the 71-year-old
woman nearby, punched
her in the face and stole
her cellphone. He then
took off from the scene.
Offi cers from the 20th
Precinct responded to the
incident. Both victims
suffered pain, but refused
medical attention.

Cops seek crook who beat and robbed
a deliveryman and took his food in
Manhattan

The NYPD is looking for a
crook who beat and robbed a
food deliveryman in the East
Village last week.
According to police, at 10:20 p.m.
on June 15, a 24-year-old man was
delivering food in the vicinity of East
3 Street and Avenue D when he was
approached by an unknown man.
After demanding that the victim give
him his food and money, the suspect
pushed the victim to the ground and
struck him multiple times throughout
his body.
The victim handed over the food
and the suspect fl ed westbound on
foot toward Avenue C. The victim
sustained minor injuries and refused
medical attention at the scene.
On June 21, the NYPD released
photos of the suspect, who is described
as a Black man in his early
50s, standing 6 feet, 4 inches tall.

An off-duty NYPD
school crossing
guard was arrested
on Monday for allegedly trying
to sneak his way into the
PATH system in Manhattan.
According to police, just
before 7:30 p.m. on June 22,
30-year-old George Oliver
was allegedly observed
sneakers, and carrying a black
satchel.
Anyone with information in regard
to the identity of this male is asked
attempting to manipulate the
turnstile at a PATH system
within the confi nes of the
1st Precinct.
When stopped by police,
Oliver allegedly asserted that
he was an NYPD detective.
Oliver was taken into
custody and charged with
criminal trespassing, theft
of service and criminal
impersonation.

Suspect sought for
East Village slaying

Cops are looking for the
suspect who gunned
down an East Village
man inside an apartment
building Saturday night.
Law enforcement sources
said the shooting took place
just before 7:21 p.m. on June
20 inside a residence on East
12th Street near Avenue C.
Offi cers from the 9th Precinct,
while responding to a
911 call about a man shot,
found the 36-year-old victim
unconscious inside the location,
with a bullet wound to
his upper left leg.
Paramedics rushed the
victim to Bellevue Hospital,
where he was pronounced
dead. Police have withheld
his identity, pending family
notifi cation.
Police do not yet know
the motive behind the deadly
gunfi re.
No arrests have been made
at this point in the ongoing
investigation.
