Cops in Chelsea
found a nonagenarian
mother and
her son dead inside an
apartment while making
a wellness check on Saturday
afternoon, it was
reported.
Offi cers from the 10th
Precinct came to the
home on West 23rd Street
between 10th and 11th
Avenues at about 2:41 p.m.
on Jan. 30.
Sources familiar with the
investigation said the building’s
superintendent let the
offi cers in as they made the
wellness check, prompted
by a call to police from a
relative who hadn’t heard

subway station in Lower
Manhattan.

Violent man stabs two people
in Midtown during storm: NYPD

Cops are looking for the violent man
who stabbed two people in the
back on a Midtown street during
Monday’s major snowstorm.
Law enforcement sources said the incident
happened at about 11:56 a.m. on Feb.
1 in front of 525 8th Ave., near West 36th
Street.
According to police, the two victims — a
man and a woman, both aged 31 — were
in front of the location when the attacker,
who exited from a gray four-door sedan,
approached them.
Authorities said the perpetrator stabbed
both victims in the back with a sharp object.

Mystery surrounds death of
93-year-old woman found
inside Manhattan bathtub

Detectives are investigating the
death of a 93-year-old woman
whose naked body was found
inside a bathtub in the Hudson Heights
section of Manhattan on Friday.
Offi cers from the 33rd Precinct responded
to a 911 call about a person in need of
assistance at about 1:05 a.m. on Jan. 29 at
an apartment building on Fort Washington
Avenue near West 178th Street.
Upon arriving at the home, they located
the victims did not know their attacker.
Following the assault, cops said, the
stabber retreated to his sedan, which then
left the location amid the snowfall. Police
released video of the perpetrator fl eeing the
scene on Monday night.
Officers from the Midtown North
Precinct responded to the incident. Both
victims are now in stable condition at Bellevue
Hospital.
Cops described the suspect as a Hispanic
man wearing a gray t-shirt and black pants.

inside the bathroom. Cops said she was
naked in the tub, with a black garment
wrapped around her neck and bruises on
her knees.
Responding paramedics pronounced her
dead at the location. Police have withheld
her identity, pending family notifi cation.
Her body was transferred to the Medical
Examiner’s offi ce for an autopsy to determine
the cause of death.
So far, no arrests have been made in the
ongoing investigation, police reported.
The suspects wanted for a Jan. 29 robbery and assault
at the Dunkin’ Donuts store located within the
Fulton Street subway station in Lower Manhattan.
