for a reading of three short
stories from writers refl ecting
on the Shoah: “The Road of No
Return” by Rachel Häring Korn
read by Jackie Hoffman, “The
Shawl” by Cynthia Ozick read by
Mili Avital, and “A Wedding in
Brownsville” by Isaac Bashevis
Singer read by Eleanor Reissa.

Classical performance: Come

world-renowned cellist Steven
Isserlis and award-winning
pianist Connie Shih perform a
rich program of Russian jewels.
The program includes two of the
great works for cello — Shostakovich’s
romantic, witty and
magnifi cent D-minor Sonata,
and the sweepingly beautiful
sonata by Rachmaninoff — a
work Isserlis calls “a journey
of the soul.” Available online
