8 C RY D E R P O I N T MAY Cryder Point Spring Festival 2017: A Most Eggscellent Day! The Quality of Life Committee organized the Cryder Point Spring Festival which was held on Sunday, April 2 the 01/21 Courtyard from 1pm-3pm. Board liaison Eileen Annechino provided this roundup of the activities, and Dorene Finnegan took the photos. Thanks go to the QLC for their ongoing community initiatives, and we’re all looking forward to another Festival next year! We couldn’t have asked for a better day weather-wise. Sunshine and a little breeze, and the courtyard was decorated with Easter eggs, bunnies and games (Pin-the-Tail-on-the-Bunny was big!). There was a small pink fenced-in area for the little ones filled with Easter eggs. Baskets, paper bags and many hands were filled with over 300 eggs that had been stashed all over the courtyard. The sack races were pretty hilarious, as were the three legged races. It was nice to see not only parents but many other residents joining in the festivities, and the 50/50 was enjoyed by all. Irene McGee and Krista Berg planned, organized and shopped. Volunteers were CeCe Schob, Carmela Leonardi and Joe Leonardi and, of course, our in-house photographer, Dorene Finnegan. The older kids were really helpful with the little ones too, which was very nice to see. As always, our staff was terrific in helping with boxes and tables as we needed. SPECIAL NOTE: CeCe Schob, Carmela and Joe Leonardi came out early to help and in the best of Cryder Point spirit cleared then entire forward courtyard of geese poop--several bags of it in fact. I would so much appreciate a special mention in some way about this. Editor’s note: Eileen, consider it done! And thank you CeCe, Carmela and Joe—talk about dedication! 8 CRYDER POINT COURIER | MAY 2017 | WWW.QUEENSCOURIER.COM
