COVID VACCINE UPDATE
Covid vaccines continue to roll out but the process
remains slow. At press time, per nyc.gov, the number
of Queens residents who have been fully inoculated
totaled approximately 145,000 out of a population of
roughly 2.3 million and approximately 10% of Whitestone
residents have been fully vaccinated.
The single dose Johnson & Johnson vaccine is beginning
to be distributed and pharmaceutical company
Merck is starting production of the J&J vaccine, which will
amp up availability considerably. The CDC and government health experts advise
that people should get the first vaccine that becomes available to them.
Please note: The CDC also reports that it is not yet known whether those who
have been fully vaccinated might still transmit the illness to others. As a result,
the CDC recommends everyone to continue to wear masks in public even if you
have been fully inoculated. Please continue to follow the Covid guidelines outlined
on this page. Thank you.
WINDOW GUARD MAILING REMINDER
All residents received their annual window guard safety notice earlier this year.
If you have not yet sent it back to the Dept. of Health, please do so as soon as
possible. Use the postage-paid envelope that was provided in the mailing.
HOMEOWNERS INSURANCE REMINDER
All residents are required to maintain homeowners’ insurance. When you
renew, please submit a copy of your Declarations Page to the Management Office.
BUILDINGLINK REMINDER
Approximately 2/3 of apartments have registered with BuildingLink, but not all
have activated their accounts. Those of you who have active accounts are aware
of the many updates that are sent out from Management using this tool, such as
emergency repair notifications, etc. It’s a lot faster and more efficient than using
paper notices, and everyone is urged to sign up. Please contact Bridget Matus in
the office if you have any questions about how to get started.
Till next time, Jill Davis

Keep your distance
No congregating!
Always practice social distancing, i.e., stay 6 feet away
from the next person, even if you are wearing a mask
If you don’t feel well
Seek medical care if you are not feeling well for 3 to 4
days.
Unfortunately, not everyone is tested for the virus.
The symptoms vary widely, so it’s difficult to tell if you
actually have the coronavirus if you have not been tested.
However, you will likely be advised by your medical professional
to self-quarantine. It is imperative that you do
so until you are medically cleared.
Notify Management so that you can be assisted, e.g.,
having your trash picked up outside your door.
WE’RE IN THIS TOGETHER!
