MTA Bus Proposals: Efforts to stop the MTA’s
proposed bus service changes continue. First up
is the public meeting with elected officials and
MTA reps on March 18 at Holy Cross Greek
Orthodox (see flyer for details). There will
also be another public meeting at the Bay Terrace
Jewish Center on April 2; details about
that meeting will be issued as they become
available. On behalf of the Board—and all of
your neighbors—I urge you to attend one or
both of these meetings so that your voice heard.
In the meantime, the consortium of Beechhurst
co-ops and condos has a meeting scheduled for the end
of March with Councilmember Paul Vallone. As with previous consortium
meetings, this will be a board-member-only meeting. Minutes
will be taken and distributed to all Cryder Point residents to keep everyone
up to date.
BuildingLink: We needed to have a sufficient number of sign-ups
in order get BuildingLink set up. At press time, we have collected info
from over one-half of Cryder Point residents and are ready to get things
started. BuildingLink will now begin that process and residents will be
kept informed of progress along the way. If you haven’t already signed
up, please use the form in this paper or pick up a copy at your concierge’s
desk. You can also download it from the Cryder Point website
(www.cryderpoint.com).
And please remember: If you don’t have an email address, we still
need your form. Simply indicate that you don’t have an email address
on the form and return it to the Management Office. Thank you.
Elevator Plans: By the time the March issue of this newspaper is
distributed, members of the board will have met with Century Elevator
to lock down start and end dates and mobilization details of the project.
This information is a key part of the communications plan to residents
in advance of the work later this year. As we’ve said, we want to provide
information to everyone with substantial lead time before work begins.
Please stay tuned for more details.
Beach Cleanup: Mark your calendars for Saturday, April 25 for our
annual beach cleanup. The date is timely since Earth Day is on April 22
this year. It’s an important day where volunteer residents get together to
rid the area of litter, which not only makes the beach more usable but
helps prevent garbage from winding up back in the river. We meet in
the morning, but the exact start time will be announced when the date
gets closer and we have a read on the tides for that day.
Till next time, Jill Davis
