Cops nab suspect moments
after traffic cop assault near
Times Square

Police offi cers chased down and arrested
a suspect near Times Square
late Tuesday afternoon after the
assault of a traffi c cop, law enforcement
sources said.
The incident occurred at around 3:30
p.m. on Dec. 29 near the corner of West
40th Street and 7th Avenue. Police offi cials
and medical personal were already on the
scene, responding to an unrelated 911 call
when a passing traffi c enforcement agent
was accosted by a man, who identifi ed
himself as Luke.
This individual accused the offi cer of
giving a nearby ambulance a parking ticket
when a shouting match ensued. The agent
could be seen pushing the man back, attempting
to create distance when nearby

Crook throws woman to the ground
and swipes her pull cart in Midtown

Cops are looking
for a thief who attacked
and robbed
a woman in a Midtown
subway station.
Authorities say that
at 8:50 p.m. on Dec. 21,
the victim — a 61-yearold
woman — was on
the southbound R train
platform at the Lexington
Ave—63rd Street subway
station when she was approached
by an unknown
woman. After engaging in
conversation, the woman
grabbed the victim by her
hair and pulled her to the
ground.
When the victim tried
to leave the station, the
suspect pulled her to the
ground by her hair again
and took the victim’s pull
concluded between 38th and 39th Streets
after members of the Midtown SouthPrecinct
tackled the man against a parked
vehicle, cuffi ng him.
The suspect professed his innocence
to gathered onlookers as he was being
detained stating: “I was investigating why
he was giving a ticket!”
After a thorough search, additional offi
cers arrived to help place the suspect into
the custody of a NYPD cruiser.
No injuries were reported.

The victim sustained
minor injuries but refused
medical attention at the
scene.
The NYPD released a
photo of the suspect, who
is described as a 25-yearold
light-skinned woman
standing between 5 feet, 5
inches and 5 feet, 6 inches
tall and weighing 140-150
pounds. She was last seen
wearing a black t-shirt and
black leggings.

Vehicle bursts into flames
near Union Square

A car caught fi re on
Union Square late
Sunday evening.
Just before 6 p.m. on
Sunday, Dec. 27, fi refi ghters,
and police officers
responded to call regarding
a car that had burst into
fl ames on East 15 Street
and Union Square West.
According to eyewitnesses,
the blaze appeared to originate
from the engine of the
silver Ford Hybrid.
A handful of police offi -
cers from the 13th Precinct
cordoned off the area from
bystanders while FDNY
swiftly extinguished the engulfi
ng inferno. Firefi ghters
could be seen examining
the charred remains, starting
with the engine which
was completely melted
into the grill. As fi refi ghters
rolled up their hose, the
vehicle’s hood consisted of
nothing more than a series
of gaping metallic holes
while the engine itself was a
gouged tangle of blackened
wires and twisted metal. A
bumper also laid strewn on
the sidewalk.
The vehicle was left
at the scene for further
investigation. The pungent
stench of fi re lingered in the
air as offi cers continued to
gather intel.
According to FDNY
sources, no injuries were
reported, and the cause is
still under investigation.

Younger man sought for beating up
senior during argument in Midtown

Detectives need the public’s help in
fi nding the assailant who roughed
up a 67-year-old man during a
street beef in Midtown on Monday night.
The NYPD released
images of the perpetrator
sought for the Dec. 28
attack, which occurred
at 9:30 p.m. in front of a
building on 8th Avenue
near West 39th Street in
the Garment District.
Law enforcement
sources said the victim
and suspect became
embroiled in an argument.
The words then
turned physical when
the younger man went on
the attack, striking the
victim in the head with
an unknown object.
Following the assault, the perpetrator
fl ed on foot northbound along 8th Avenue.

Officers from the Midtown South
Precinct and EMS units responded to the
scene. The victim was treated at Lenox
Health Greenwich Village for a laceration,
and was listed in stable condition.
Police described the perpetrator as a
man with a light complexion
believed to be
30 years of age, standing
5 feet, 7 inches tall
and weighing about 140
pounds. He was last seen
wearing a white coat, a
blue sweatshirt and black
sweatpants.
