Manhattan’s
Premier Doctors
Honoring the best in our borough
Manhattan is home to some of
the best medical and dental
professionals in the world,
and we’re proud to spotlight some of
them in this issue of “Manhattan’s Premier
Doctors”
More than ever, we’ve come to appreciate
the sacrifi ces made by the
medical community amid the COVID
19 pandemic. At the height of
the crisis in March and April of this
year, hospitals swelled with severely
ill patients, and every doctor, nurse,
lab technician and staff member put
themselves at risk to save the lives of
strangers.
That’s the defi nition of the tenets of
the Hippocratic Oath — that solemn
promise a physician makes to “do no
harm” and help the patient heal — and
of the kind of care and love a doctor
shows to the people who come to them
in need of help.
Our premier doctors and dentists
are just a few of the thousands of practitioners
who work every day to care
for, cure and comfort the ailing. These
doctors have gone above and beyond
the call of duty amid the crisis to tend
to their patients, new and regular, and
give them the attention they deserve.
As much credit as general practitioners
are given, we also applaud the
specialists who, while not necessarily
on the front lines against COVID-19,
have gone above and beyond to make
their practices safe for their patients.
Even amid a pandemic, people continue
to suffer from other ailments —
cardiologists continue to work with
patients who have heart conditions,
gastroenterologists with patients dealing
with digestive issues, oncologists
helping patients battle cancer, dentists
with dental matters, podiatrists with
foot and mobility issues, and so on.
These physicians and their staffs
have gone to great lengths to keep
their offi ces safe, according to state
and CDC guidelines, and continue
to ensure that their patients remain
healthy and alert amid the ongoing
crisis.
Our premier doctors are people you
can trust to take care of you and your
family. You can count on them to be
there for you in your time of need, to
help you fi gure out what’s wrong and
to offer a path forward toward recovery
— showing genuine care and compassion
along the way.
We thank them for their daily sacrifi
ces and dedication to the task before
them, and hope you will do the same!
