Detectives need the public’s help in
fi nding the suspect who knifed a
52-year-old man during an argument
inside a Greenwich Village parking garage
earlier this week.
The NYPD released on Tuesday night
video footage of the attacker sought for the
Aug. 24 assault, which took place at 3:23 p.m.
at 222 West 14th St.
Law enforcement sources said the suspect
and victim became embroiled in a verbal dispute

caught on camera.
The video that police provided shows the
suspect chasing the man inside the building’s

on. After the victim tripped and fell to the
concrete fl oor, the attacker — with a sharp
object in hand — began swinging at the man.
One of the witnesses attempted to intervene,
but backed off after the attacker
threatened him. The suspect then stabbed the
victim again as he rose to his feet, and the
witness then helped distance the man from
the attacker.
Following the attack, the suspect exited the
garage and fl ed on foot westbound along 14th
Street toward 5th Avenue.
Offi cers from the 6th Precinct and EMS
units responded to the scene. Paramedics
brought the victim to Bellevue Hospital,
where he was listed in stable condition.
Cops described the assailant as being between
20 and 30 years of age, standing 5 feet, 11 inches

Cops are looking for the crook who
broke into the same East Village
store’s basement on back-to-back
days last month and stole merchandise.
Police released on Aug. 25 a security
camera image of the shirtless suspect
behind the consecutive burglaries that
took place on July 6-7 at 437 East 9th
St., a vintage sportswear shop.
At about 4 p.m. on July 6, law enforcement
sources said, the thief pushed
through an air conditioner inside a
rear window and got inside. He then
entered the basement and accessed a
locked room, where he removed $750
in merchandise.
Cops said he then fl ed through the
front door of a neighboring residential
building.
Authorities said he returned the next
day, at about 8:17 a.m. on July 7, and
gained entry into the store through a

a locked room in the basement and
removed an undisclosed amount of
clothing before fl eeing.
Both burglaries were reported to the
A month later, cops said, the suspect changed his tactic
and robbed goods from two drug stores on Aug. 13.
Police reported that the fi rst robbery occurred at 4:33
p.m. on Aug. 13 inside the CVS located at 81 8th Ave. in
Chelsea.
According to authorities, the crook walked into the location
and removed diapers off the shelf and placed them
into his bag. When an 18-year-old male pharmacy worker
confronted him, cops said, the perpetrator pulled out a
metal object and threatened the employee.
The suspect then walked out of the store with the diapers
and fl ed in an unknown direction.
Seven hours later, police said, at 11:36 p.m., the thief
visited the Duane Reade at 380 Amsterdam Ave. on the
Upper West Side, grabbed various goods and attempted
to walk out of the store.
When a 23-year-old female security guard went to stop
him, according to authorities, the crook again pulled out
an unidentifi ed metal object and threatened her. He then
walked out of the store with the property.
