Cops seek crook who tried
to burglarize three Village
apartments in one hour
last month

Authorities are looking
for a thief who tried
to burglarize three
Village apartments in over the
course of an hour last month.
According to police,
at 11:35 a.m. on July 28,
an unknown man tried to
enter an apartment in the
vicinity of Jones Street and
Bleecker Street by pushing
in a window screen. He was
confronted by the 31-year-old
man who lived there and fl ed
down the fi re escape.
At 12:15 p.m. that same
day, the suspect climbed
over the fence at the rear of
a residential building located
in the vicinity of West 12th
Street and West 4th Street.
The suspect knocked on
the door of a 28-year-old
woman’s apartment and
motioned for her to open the
door. The victim refused and
the suspect fl ed the scene in
an unknown direction.
Then, at 12:30 p.m. that
day, the suspect gained entry
to a 27-year-old woman’s
apartment in the same building
through an unlocked
front door. The suspect took
the victim’s purse, which
contained $40 in cash, Apple
headphones, and her credit
cards. A subsequent investigation
found that the suspect had
tried to us the victim’s credit
card at 1:28 p.m. that same
day at Target, located at 139
Flatbush Ave. in Brooklyn.
On Aug. 10, the NYPD
released a photo and video
of the suspect:

wearing a blue surgical mask,
a black baseball cap, a black
shirt, blue jeans, black and
white sneakers, and sunglasses.

Watch this knife-wielding crook take
a man’s belongings on a Soho street

Cops are looking for the armed
bandit who robbed a man at
knifepoint in Soho during a caper
caught on camera.
Police released on Aug. 11 video
footage of the holdup that occurred at
11:35 p.m. on Aug. 3 in the area of West
Houston and Greene Streets.
According to law enforcement sources,
the suspect approached an 18-yearold
man as he walked through the area
and stopped him. Police reported that
the perpetrator pulled out a knife and
demanded that the victim hand over
everything.
As the video shows, the victim rifl ed
through his pocket and handed over his
wallet, as well as the backpack he carried,
to the perpetrator.
Seconds later, cops said, the suspect
fl ed on foot eastbound along West Houston
Street.
The incident was reported to the 6th
Precinct. The victim was not injured.

Shirtless thief sought for snatching
speaker from Manhattan cellphone

Cops are looking for
a shirtless man who
swiped a speaker
from a Chelsea cellphone
shop last week.
According to police, at
11:20 a.m. on Aug. 1, an
unknown man entered an
AT&T Store, located at
225 West 23rd Street, and
approached a 24-year-old
male employee. The suspect
threatened the employee,
saying that he would beat
him up if he stopped him
from taking a Brazen
speaker.
The employee complied
and the suspect took the
speaker, valued at $34, off
a black-and-white baseball cap, a black
mask and dark-colored clothing.

Scooter-riding crooks sought
for armed robbery in Chinatown

Detectives are looking for two men
who held up a Chinatown bodega
at gunpoint before scooting away
on a moped last week.
Law enforcement sources said the
stickup occurred at 6:47 p.m. on Aug. 7
inside the He Xie Grocery Store at 154 East
Broadway, near Rutgers Street.
According to police, the two suspects
walked into the shop and confronted a
59-year-old man and a 43-yer-old woman.
One of the thieves pulled out a fi rearm and
ordered the two victims to sit up against
the wall.
Cops said the gun-toting crook removed
a cellphone and $1,450 in cash from the
man’s pocket. His partner then walked
behind the counter and took an additional
$300.
Cash in hand, the suspects then exited
the store and were last seen riding a motorized
scooter traveling eastbound on East
Broadway.
Offi cers from the 7th Precinct responded
to the robbery. Neither victim was injured.
On Aug. 9, the NYPD released video
footage of the suspects.
